Opportunity Overview

The Senior Practice Management Consultant is responsible for delivering high-impact consulting engagements to branch teams, focusing on practice growth, team structure, organizational efficiency, real estate and succession planning. Reporting to the Team Leader, Practice Management Coaching and Consultation, this role serves as a strategic advisor to branch teams, conducting discovery processes, analyzing data, and providing tailored recommendations based on expertise in wealth management and practice management standards. The Sr. Practice Management Consultant plays a critical role in driving measurable business outcomes, supporting the refinement of consulting offerings, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with firm priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

Consultation Delivery: Conduct strategic coaching and/or consulting engagements with branch teams, focusing on growth strategies, team design, client segmentation, workflow optimization, and succession planning.

Discovery & Analysis: Perform in-depth discovery and diagnostic processes to understand branch team dynamics, challenges, and opportunities, leveraging data analysis to inform recommendations based on root cause analyses.

Customized Recommendations: Lead practice strategy engagements across a range of topics, leveraging proven practices, and developing tailored strategies and implementation plans based on deep expertise in wealth management, practice management, and industry standards, ensuring alignment with branch goals, market conditions and firm outcomes.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Influence: Build strong relationships with practice teams and partnerships with internal stakeholders, ensuring buy-in for proposed growth strategies, driving adoption of Financial Planning, practice models of the future, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Outcome Focus: Drive and measure business outcomes by helping practice teams implement strategies to optimize their practice.

Industry Expertise: Maintain knowledge of best practices, market trends, and industry standards, contributing to thought leadership through presentations, blogs, and whitepapers.

Quality Assurance: Ensure the delivery of high-quality, tailored coaching & consultation services, adapting strategies to meet the unique needs of practice teams.

Problem-Solving: Address complex challenges faced by practice teams, exercising sound judgment and discretion in providing strategic advice. Isolate root cause and identify resources beyond the immediate team to address practice team needs, and accelerate the adoption of new solutions aligned to driving practice and Canada Business Unit profitability.

Collaboration with Leadership: Partner with the Team Leader to refine and scale coaching & consulting offerings, ensuring alignment with firm priorities and market dynamics.

Strategic initiative delivery: Responsible for leading and delivering medium to large scale projects, including strategic planning, content development, and program delivery.

Professional Development: Continuously enhance expertise in practice management and business acumen, contributing to the growth and development of the coaching & consulting team.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6+ years of experience in coaching or consulting
  • Strong understanding of financial services industry practice, including business models, compensation structures, client service strategies, and financial planning processes.
  • Preferred: Advanced knowledge of Practice Management standards, team design, client service models, branch operations, and market dynamics.
  • Working towards or completion of Canadian Securities Course
  • Prior experience in a wealth management practice or designations such as CFP or coaching certifications could set you apart
