Verdantas is seeking a Senior Portfolio Manager to lead and grow environmental services across Ohio and the Midwest. This role blends project leadership, technical expertise, client relationship management, and business development to deliver high-impact environmental solutions supporting infrastructure, energy, and land redevelopment projects.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and oversee a portfolio of environmental projects across one or more clients aligned with Verdantas’ strategic priorities, goals, client commitments, and risk tolerance.
- Oversee multiple environmental projects (assessment, remediation, brownfield redevelopment) ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and budget.
- Provide technical leadership across regulatory programs (RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA, state programs including Ohio EPA VAP).
- Lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor staff across environmental disciplines.
- Coordinate resources, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment and execution across the portfolio.
- Monitor portfolio performance, risks, and financials; implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with business operations and project delivery support leadership.
- Serve as the client account lead, building and maintaining strong relationships across public and private sectors.
- Drive business development efforts including proposal development, pursuit strategy, and market expansion.
- Support funding strategies including federal and state grant programs (e.g., USEPA brownfield funding).
- Ensure compliance with QA/QC standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Communicate portfolio updates, milestones, and performance to senior leadership and stakeholders.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of environmental consulting experience with increasing leadership responsibility.
- Proven experience managing complex environmental assessment and remediation projects.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated project and client management experience delivering multi-disciplinary projects across a diverse portfolio.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
- Professional licensure (PE, PG, or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience with brownfield redevelopment and environmental funding programs preferred.
Salary Range:
The starting salary for this position is $153,000, with final compensation determined by qualifications and licensure status.
