Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:

The Principal Physician Education Specialist leads high-impact initiatives that advance the education of healthcare providers, including surgeons, APPs, nurses, and allied health professionals. This role focuses on developing and executing high-quality education programs aligned with business strategy and elevate clinical practice. The Principal builds trusted relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and manages external faculty to ensure excellence in program development and delivery. In partnership with senior team members, regional partners across the Americas, and cross-functional stakeholders, the Principal drives impactful, compliant education and learning experiences that deepen clinical expertise and improve patient outcomes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
  • Lead the development and execution of healthcare provider education initiatives aligned with broader strategic objectives.
  • Design and deliver comprehensive education programs, including learning objectives, curriculum, content, and tools, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain education resources and customer-facing materials that support program engagement and knowledge transfer.
  • Identify and cultivate KOLs, faculty, and strategic sites for training centers, centers of excellence, or collaborative opportunities.
  • Manage KOL and faculty relationships, including onboarding, communication, and coordination for their roles in education delivery.
  • Partner with field teams to support the implementation of 'Best Practices' through aligned education activities.
  • Gather and apply feedback from faculty, participants, and internal stakeholders to continuously enhance program quality.
  • Support collaborations with professional societies and fellowship programs to expand education opportunities and program visibility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Clinical Science, R&D, Legal, Compliance, Regulatory) to ensure cohesive execution of educational initiatives.
  • Partner with regional teams to extend physician education initiatives across the Americas (Canada, LATAM, Caribbean), tailoring programs to local needs while maintaining global standards and compliance.
  • Stay current on company products, literature, and clinical trends.
  • Attend conferences to support KOL engagement and education efforts.
  • Serve as a mentor for specialists and senior specialists and assist in onboarding.
  • Attend PFE as needed to serve as an educator, facilitator or resource.


ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
  • Demonstrate regular and predictable work performance

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field (e.g., Nursing, Health Sciences,); advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience.
  • Minimum 1-year medical device or pharma industry experience. Project management experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of healthcare providers.
  • Experience with Customer Relation Management (CRM) and expense tools.
  • Ability to travel frequently (~60%), including overnights and weekends, to execute initiatives.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience interacting with sales management
  • Experience in Medical Education, Physician Education, or Physician Liaison type role
  • Consultant tiering, contract and budget management
  • Collaborating with vendors/3rd party consultants
  • Solid understanding and application of AdvaMed and other compliance regulations relative to physician education
  • Asset management and navigation with internal content review submissions
  • Experience with sophisticated clinical pathways and/or enhanced recovery programs.
  • Experience with pain management and multimodal strategies.
  • Experience using the Company's products as an end-user.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as needed
  • Ability to occasionally bend and push/pull as needed
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 40-50 pounds
  • Ability to pass hospital and account credentialing processes
