Senior Pharmacist Data Analyst

Position Overview
Our Pharmaceutical Analytics Services team is expanding and seeking a highly skilled Senior Pharmacist Data Analyst to help transform healthcare data into actionable insights that improve medication-related decision making across the institution.
This role offers a unique opportunity to combine clinical pharmacy knowledge with analytics expertise to influence strategy, optimize medication use processes, enhance operational performance, and support regulatory and financial initiatives. You will work closely with pharmacy leadership, clinicians, operational teams, and enterprise analytics partners to deliver innovative solutions that enable informed, data-driven decisions.

What You'll Do
As a Senior Pharmacist Data Analyst, you will serve as a trusted analytics partner and subject matter expert within the pharmacy domain. Key responsibilities include:
• Designing and delivering impactful analytics solutions, including dashboards, visualizations, reports, self-service tools, and advanced analyses.
• Partnering with clinical, operational, financial, and executive stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into scalable analytics solutions.
• Analyzing complex healthcare data from diverse sources, including Epic, Omnicell, wholesaler systems, and other pharmacy-related platforms.
• Developing meaningful insights that improve medication safety, operational efficiency, patient outcomes, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.
• Serving as the bridge between pharmacy operations and enterprise analytics teams, ensuring data initiatives align with organizational goals and strategic priorities.
• Leading projects that drive data accessibility, analytics maturity, and informed decision-making across the department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Services.
• Applying data visualization and user experience principles to create intuitive, actionable solutions that empower end users to explore and understand data independently.

Job Responsibilities:

• Understand the customers and internal needs to assist in data-driven solutions.
• Provide guidance to business teams on centralized data management, security, governance, and support.
• Assist in implementation and monitoring of data governance strategy in line with organizational expectations, regulatory requirements, and standards.
• Design and develop data load processes of structured and unstructured data, optimizing information reuse and utilizing industry best practices.
• Lead development of databases and/or ETL processes for on-prem and cloud-based systems.
• (For Analytics Development) Independently execute complex activities within area (e.g., business requirement analysis; technical design; leading dashboard design sessions; developing data warehouse structures; guiding dashboard development, testing, maintenance, and refresh).
• Stay abreast of advances in data engineering/visualization and relevant emerging technologies and tools that will add value to services and data integration delivery.
• Train and mentor junior team members.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

• Graduate of a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council of Pharmacy Education required. Advanced degree or PGY1/PGY2 residency training preferred.

Minimum Experience:

• Four (4) years of combined experience in pharmacy practice and/or information systems support or application development is required.
• Experience with data modeling, reporting, and metrics creation within electronic health records (Epic) is preferred.
• Experience with MS SQL is preferred.
• Experience with pharmacy-specific software (e.g. Epic Willow, Omnicell) is preferred.
• Epic Caboodle and Cogito certifications is preferred.
• Experience in programming querying languages.
• Some experience with enterprise reporting tools for the development of reports as applicable.
• Some experience creating dashboards using data visualization tools (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, and data warehousing applications) as applicable.
• Two (2) years of pharmacy practice experience at St. Jude or a comparable institution with demonstrated excellent professional performance is preferred.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only:

• (LC: PHARM-TN) Licensure by the Tennessee State Board of Pharmacy required. For those with a license from another state, a Tennessee Pharmacy License must be obtained within four (4) months of employment.

• Leverages knowledge of data architecture to optimize data integration and analytics.
• Is aware of interdependencies across work and considers all parts of the work and its impact while executing own work.
• Collaborates across scrum teams and contractors to deliver common team goals.
• Navigates and flexes work style to requirements that can change frequently, continues to communicate and influence others.

Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $104,000 - $186,160 per year for the role of Senior Pharmacist Data Analyst.
