Full Job Description
The Role

Wag! is looking for an experienced Senior People Operations Manager to own the full employee lifecycle outside of recruiting. This is a hands-on, generalist role for someone who thrives on building efficient processes, solving problems with empathy, and making sure our HR operations run smoothly and compliantly. You'll be the go-to HR person for everything from onboarding a new hire on their first day to administering benefits, managing our HRIS, and ensuring we stay compliant across a range of federal, state, and local regulations.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing many hats, has a strong grasp of HR compliance and operations, and wants to make a direct impact on the employee experience at a growing company. This role is full-time and in-person 5x a week in our downtown Miami office. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire. This position is not eligible for current or future employment visa sponsorship.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Own the end-to-end onboarding experience for new hires and manage a smooth, compliant offboarding process for departing employees, including exit interviews and documentation.
  • HRIS Management: Serve as the primary administrator of our HRIS, ensuring data accuracy, managing system updates and integrations, and generating reports for leadership.
  • Benefits Administration: Manage the day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs, including open enrollment, vendor relationships, and employee questions.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers, addressing questions and concerns, investigating and resolving workplace issues, and fostering a positive, respectful work environment.
  • Performance Reviews: Own the performance review process end-to-end, including calendar management, manager and employee enablement, and process improvement.
  • Compliance: Ensure company policies and practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws; maintain required postings, filings, and recordkeeping; manage required employee training such as Harassment Prevention Training, and keep the employee handbook current.
  • 401(k) Administration: Manage the company's 401(k) program, including enrollment, contributions, compliance testing, and vendor coordination.
  • EOR Management (Oyster): Serve as the primary point of contact for our Employer of Record partner (Oyster), managing international employee onboarding, payroll coordination, and compliance for global team members.
  • Leave of Absence: Administer all leave of absence programs (FMLA, state-specific leave, personal leave, etc.), ensuring compliant and empathetic handling from request through return to work.
  • ACA Reporting: Own annual ACA compliance and reporting requirements, ensuring accurate and timely filings.

Minimum Paw-lifications

  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms and a comfort level with HR systems and data.
  • Familiarity with EOR platforms (Oyster or similar) and managing international employees.
  • Experience with leave of absence, ACA reporting and 401(k) plan administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and sound judgment.

Purr-furred Paw-lifications
  • Experience administering compensation plans and workers' compensation programs.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset and a genuine passion for creating a great employee experience.
  • PHR/SHRM-CP certification is a plus, but not required.
