Responsibilities

(This role has a hybrid schedule with 3 days in office and 2 days flex-remote)

The UHS Corporate Accounting Department is hiring a Senior Payroll Analyst to provide advanced payroll processing for multiple behavioral health facilities, support the team, and serve as a subject matter expert for Workday Payroll operations. This role oversees payroll accuracy, supports complex payroll transactions, and assists with process improvement, optimization, and training.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Lead payroll processing activities to ensure accurate and timely payroll completion.
  • Review payroll data audits and reconciliations prior to final payroll processing.
  • Process complex payroll transactions including adjustments, terminations, and supplemental pay.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls along with supporting internal/external audit requests.
  • Serve as a payroll subject matter expert.
  • Identify process improvement and efficiency opportunities.
  • Provide support and guidance to payroll team members.
  • Assist Payroll Manager with payroll operations.
  • Safeguards the confidentiality of all payroll information, releasing details only as required by law or on a "need to know" basis to appropriate payroll, human resource, supervisory personnel, and external agencies.
  • Adjust hours, as needed, for payroll processing and finance deadlines.
Qualifications

Associates degree required with 5- 8 years of payroll experience including 2 or more years of Workday experience in lieu of college requirement. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Advanced Workday Payroll knowledge along with knowledge of complex payroll tax and wage regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting large or complex payroll environments and payroll process improvement.
  • Proficient data entry skills and a proven knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, collaborative environment.
