The Sr. Consultant is responsible for developing and maintaining performance reporting on the PCIS control environment, providing insights into key control effectiveness to support risk mitigation and strategic decision-making. As a subject matter expert, they also provide technical leadership, coaching, and development to enhance team expertise in risk, compliance, and privacy.

How you will create impact:

  • Operationalize governance, risk, and compliance practices across the business, enabling effective risk identification, assessment, and management.
  • Enable informed business decision-making through proactive risk management, including identifying, testing, and recommending remediation strategies for risks and controls.
  • Collaborate with risk and control partners across the organization to address control gaps and strengthen the overall control environment.
  • Partner with enterprise shared services teams, including Privacy and Compliance, to interpret and respond to new or evolving regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Contribute to strategic discussions by providing key insights and risk perspectives to Senior Leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Drive the research, design, and enhancement of controls by leveraging industry best practices, operational results, and professional expertise.

  • Working knowledge of Compliance and/or Audit functions within the Financial Services or Insurance industry.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to gather, interpret, and assess complex information to develop actionable recommendations.
  • Strong ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory, legal, and policy requirements.
  • Experience developing, monitoring, and analyzing Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to identify trends and emerging risks.
  • Ability to effectively manage changing priorities and adapt to evolving business, regulatory, and risk environments.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
  • Proven ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and proactively drive initiatives forward.
  • Experience providing mentorship and peer coaching to junior team members, supporting their professional growth and development.

Salary information

Expected salary/hourly range is $91,058.00to$151,764.00CAD

The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
