Summary

Summary/Objective

The Senior Natural Gas Scheduler will be responsible for managing the scheduling and coordination of natural gas transportation and distribution activities. The role will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders, including pipelines, suppliers, and customers, to ensure the efficient and cost-effective movement of natural gas. This role requires a deep understanding of gas scheduling, regulatory compliance, and the ability to resolve scheduling challenges in real-time.

Position Description

Essential Functions
  • Develop and implement gas scheduling strategies to optimize the use of transportation capacity.
  • Manage the daily scheduling of natural gas supplies, ensuring reliable and timely delivery to customers.
  • Collaborate with gas suppliers, pipelines, and customers to coordinate scheduling activities and resolve any operational issues.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Provide real-time support for resolving scheduling discrepancies, emergencies, and disruptions in the gas supply chain.
  • Prepare and maintain gas scheduling documentation and records.
  • Maintains knowledge of volume commitments contained in gas supply and transportation contracts and nominates supplies to optimize delivered costs within contract limits.
  • Maintains knowledge of pipeline/utility asset pricing components to optimize scheduling efficiency.
  • Proactively analyzes assigned area of responsibility for system optimization opportunities and collaborates with Gas Supply and Sales to determine most economical decisions and provides input into deal valuations/structuring.
  • Analyze data and trends to identify scheduling optimization opportunities and reduce costs.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement operational improvements.
