SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Senior MEP Superintendent that will provide overall direction and leadership on a Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) dominant project or for MEP scopes of work on medium to large or multiple projects.

This position offers opportunities at both levels 1 and 2, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications. Compensation for this role is determined based on factors such as experience and location

Accepted Locations: Pampa, TX; Minneapolis, MN

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overall management of construction activities and task assignments


  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule


  • Work with Project Manager(s) to budget, forecast, and manage craft labor, equipment, materials, small tools, consumables, and general working environment


  • Review construction documents for completeness and constructability


  • Support the creation, review, and update project schedule and three-week look ahead scheduling


  • Coordinate plans and specifications with engineers, identifying and clarifying any discrepancies


  • Develop and implement site utilization plan and establish crew sizes


  • Select formwork systems and equipment


  • Conduct effective pre-construction planning sessions and project site meetings


  • Oversight and supervision of work crews


  • Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, forepersons, and assistant superintendents


  • Establish and nurture teamwork environment


  • Ensure crews have resources and support


  • Provide work direction and performance evaluations


  • Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions if needed


  • Develop leadership potential through appropriate task assignments and career growth opportunities


  • Implement Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety Program at project site


  • Manage open shop and union issues


  • All other duties as assigned


  • Maintain relationships with all visitors to the site: customers, architects, union representatives, subcontractors, etc.


  • Manage site work and logistics efficiently, providing suggestions for improvement


  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels


  • Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or 10 years trade experience


  • Minimum 18 years construction experience


  • Minimum 13 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor


  • Current driver's license

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or 10 years trade experience
  • Minimum 15 years construction experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor
  • The base pay range for this role is $144,300 MIN - $216,500 MAX
  • SR MEP Superintendent II:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or 10 years trade experience
  • Minimum 18 years construction experience
  • Minimum 13 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor
  • The base pay range for this role is $164,300 MIN - $246,500 MAX
  • (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).
  • Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
