Description Job Posting: Senior Medical Laboratory TechnologistWe're looking for a Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Core Lab team in Kelowna, BC. You will be responsible for delivering in a timely manner the highest level of clinical and scientific quality to everyone we serve with a variety of testing using the latest technology. Your contributions will make a difference - the results and reports you deliver will be provided to physicians and greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone's life.
Status: Permanent Full Time

Shift: Monday to Friday, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

How YOU will make a difference:- Ensuring sample identification is correct and specimen requirements are met according to established procedures.
- Performing routine testing duties within Chemistry and Hematology which includes but not limited to analyzer maintenance, calibration, QC and troubleshooting.
- Ensuring quality control standards are maintained, investigating missing samples and performing routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Recording, interpreting and/or approving test results.
- Identifying and reporting of incidents and non-conformities
What YOU bring to the role: - You thrive independently, applying sound decision making principles and ability to self-manage in fast-paced environment
- You have a minimum of 6 years experience as a certified Medical Laboratory Technologist
- You bring a high level of interpersonal skills and you are a natural fit within a collaborative working environment
- Carry a CSMLS Registration as a practicing Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing
- Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level
- Solid ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution
- Nice to have: working experience in the Chemistry or Hematology field, knowledge and understanding of Diagnostic Accreditation standards.

- Repetitive fine motor movements of hands
- Perform duties in stationary standing/sitting positions
- Exposure to noise, chemicals, solvents and bio-hazardous and radioactive materials

Pay rate: $40.00-$47.50 per hourThe hiring pay range has been established; however, the final pay offer will be determined by taking into consideration various factors including but not limited to, level of experience and education requirements.
