Summary of Position

As a SeniorMechanical Project Manager supporting our Architecture and Engineering business unit, you are responsible for designing and managing mechanical engineering projects from conception to completion. You will apply your experience in: HVAC, plumbing/piping, refrigeration, fire protection, and fuel systems. As part of a multi-disciplined firm, you will coordinate with Site/Civil Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Structural Engineers, Architects and Construction Project Managers. You will be responsible for the production of mechanical engineering construction documents while adhering to client requirements, code requirements and site adjustments.

Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple projects and multiple clients simultaneously while ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality expectations are achieved.
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for clients and maintain strong client relationships throughout the life of the project.
  • Prepare and negotiate proposals and contracts with clients and sub-consultants.
  • Manage project plans, including staffing, resource allocation, budgets, schedules, and overall project execution.
  • Provide technical guidance related to constructability, code compliance, and system coordination.
  • Oversee the financial performance of projects, including profitability, efficiency, accounts receivable, forecasting, and related project metrics.
  • Lead and coordinate internal multi-disciplined teams, external consultants, and other project stakeholders throughout all phases of the project.
  • Review project documents and staff work for quality assurance and quality control.
  • Identify project risks, liability concerns, constructability challenges, and opportunities for proactive resolution.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop Project Engineers, Engineering Designers, and other assigned staff.
  • Support business development efforts, including maintaining existing client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and participating in new client pursuits.

  • 10+ years of experience with general building mechanical design production, preferably with commercial projects such as retail, restaurants, grocery, financial, and/or convenience stores.
  • PE License preferred, not required
  • MS office required, Revit and AutoCAD a plus
