Job PurposeThe Design Engineer is responsible for creating and developing innovative product designs, ensuring that they meet both functional and aesthetic requirements while adhering to safety, quality, and performance standards. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting design analysis, and producing technical drawings and specifications for applicable workcenters.
Key Responsibilities- Works on and develops electro-mechanical and fluid handling products (e.g., flowmeters, vision systems, GNSS receivers, ECUs, displays).
- Create and develop detailed product designs, including specifications, drawings using GD&T, and 3D models, using design software (e.g., CAD, SolidWorks, Creo, Teamcenter).
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and product management teams to ensure designs meet requirements for functionality, cost, quality, and manufacturability.
- Perform design calculations, simulations, and stress analysis to verify the performance and safety of products.
- Conduct design reviews and refine product designs based on feedback from stakeholders, ensuring that designs are optimized for production and meet customer needs.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, manuals, and reports, to support product development and manufacturing processes.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and design techniques to continuously improve design processes and product offerings.
- Research, develop, and evaluate design concepts including materials, specifications, equipment, or machines.
- Perform or facilitate installation/testing related to the product, system, or process.
- Work with external customers, distributors, vendors, or suppliers to initiate new designs and solve problems.
- May assist with quote or request for quote process.
- May act as lead on projects and guide lower level engineers and technicians.
- May assist Manufacturing Engineering with developing processes and performing prototype assembly builds.
- Perform analysis on existing products and support Quality on product issues for improvements and maintenance.
Experience Required- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in product design or mechanical design engineering.
Preferred Qualifications- Minimum of 3 years Solidworks experience.
- Minimum of 3 years Creo experience.
- Minimum of 3 years GD&T experience.
- Experience with electro-mechanical products and design.
- Experience with injection molding and casting design and processes.
- Familiarity or experience with agricultural and construction equipment and practices.
Pay TransparencyThe annual salary for this role is USD $86,625.00 - $132,825.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
