As the Senior Marketing & Sales Operations Consultant, you will be responsible for assisting dealerships in achieving marketing operational excellence with the Distribution Center of Excellence (DCOE) supporting our Differentiated Dealer Capabilities program. You will develop a reputation as a subject matter expert in process improvement methodologies that will, in turn, improve marketing operations profitability. You will work to execute marketing capability requirements and deploy marketing standards with the goal of achieving dealer sales and services growth with customers in support of the Enterprise Strategy.

The Distribution Center of Excellence (DCOE) is part of the Americas Distribution & Services Division (ADSD). The DCOE provides operational support for Service and Marketing & Sales. The primary role of the DCOE is to support and enhance the Cat® dealer network, which is a competitive strength and the critical way we serve our customers.

The Senior Marketing & Sales Operations Consultant will provide proactive, analytical support to facilitate dealer marketing capability achievement and work in close collaboration with the Marketing & Sales Operations Representative (MSOR's) in territory. This individual will support four Districts in the Western & Canada region (Pacific Northwest, Mountain West, Midwest, & Canda).

What You Will Do:
  • Enable services and sales revenue growth by supporting district teams in driving marketing and sales effectiveness capabilities at Caterpillar Dealers. Actively support districts by resolving problems regarding business plan execution, operational improvement and achievement of targets.
  • Partner with districts to develop and execute strategic engagement and implement action plans for dealer marketing capabilities. Measure dealer performance and support districts on developing improvement action plans and gap resolution initiatives to support Differentiated Dealer Capabilities.
  • Drive dealer usage of marketing automation tools that allow boosting online customer engagement by providing dynamic digital experiences that trigger personalized customer journeys and monitoring the customer behavior with the goal of increasing the number of active retail customers.
  • Develop deep expertise to advise districts and dealers on process improvement for areas such as customer retention and activation, nurturing campaigns, and marketing leads development and follow through.
  • Evaluate the training needs of field representative and dealer personnel and leverage existing materials and resources to satisfy those training requirements in the digital marketing space.
  • Cross functional collaboration with partner divisions including Construction Industries (CI), Power & Energy (P&E), Resource Industries (RI), and Cat Digital.
  • Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.

  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or business, or related experience in lieu of business or marketing degree.
  • Knowledge of marketing and sales key concepts and industry strategies.
  • Previous experience working with Caterpillar's dealer network.
  • Previous Caterpillar field representative experience.
  • Previous roles held in marketing operations and sales support or commercial/industry experience
  • Self-driven with the demonstrated ability to work on increasingly more complex assignments.

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
