Purpose and Job Summary

Lument is seeking a Senior Managing Director to lead enterprise-wide Loan Servicing and Asset Management platform across a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate loans and owned assets. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role requires a seasoned leader who is responsible for setting strategy, driving operational excellence, and building a scalable, high-performance platform that supports Lument’s diverse capital solutions and long-term growth objectives. This position will partner closely with leaders in other parts of the organization.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership to a large section of the organization across loan servicing, asset management, and operational support functions.

  • Establish clear vision, structure, and performance expectations across a geographically and functionally diverse team.

  • Develop, mentor, and empower senior leaders and managers, with a strong emphasis on succession planning, talent development, and leadership depth.

  • Drive organizational effectiveness through process improvement, technology adoption, and operating discipline.

  • Serve as a key thought partner to the COO on enterprise operations, resource allocation, and platform scalability.

  • Oversee compliance with all Agency servicing requirements, reporting standards, and program guidelines across Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA/HUD portfolios..

  • Maintain strong working relationships with Agency counterparts, ensuring alignment on credit matters, asset‑level issues, and portfolio‑wide trends.

  • Ensure proactive asset management focused on credit protection, value preservation, and downside risk mitigation.

  • Lead the management of complex, underperforming, or distressed loans and assets, including restructurings, workouts, modifications, foreclosures, and REO strategies.

  • Ensure the organization remains current on evolving Agency policies, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices.

·         Oversee the full servicing and asset management operating budget, including staffing, technology, third‑party services, and departmental expenditures.

·         Develop annual budget plans aligned with enterprise priorities, ensuring disciplined cost management and efficient resource allocation across all servicing and asset management functions.

·         Monitor financial performance against budget, identifying variances, operational drivers, and opportunities for cost optimization without compromising service quality or compliance.

  • Oversee third-party servicers, special servicers, trustees, and external advisors, ensuring performance and cost efficiency.

  • Partner closely with Credit, Underwriting, and Production leaders to align asset management insights with underwriting standards, credit policy, and origination strategy.

  • Provide feedback loops from portfolio performance to inform risk appetite, deal structuring, and pricing.

  • Serve as a senior escalation point for credit and asset-level issues across the portfolio.

  • Ensure strong governance, internal controls, and compliance with loan documentation, investor requirements, and regulatory obligations.

  • Support audits, examinations, and internal reviews.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education, Skills & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, MSRE, or JD strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in commercial real estate asset management, loan servicing, credit, or special servicing.
  • 10+ years of experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA/USDA government sponsored entities
  • Significant experience with multifamily, affordable housing, seniors housing, and/or health care real estate.
  • Deep understanding of tax-exempt and taxable loan structures, seniors housing financing, agency executions, and balance sheet lending.
  • Proven track record of leading large, complex portfolios and managing senior-level teams.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and valuation skills.
  • ·Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience interfacing with executive leadership, investors, and external partners.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on, execution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence across functions.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and comfort operating in complex and ambiguous situations.
  • Detail-oriented while maintaining a portfolio-level, big-picture perspective.

 

Annual base salary gross: $250,000 - $325,000 (NY only). The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end of ORIX’s salary for this position based on geography. Actual base salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base pay is one component of ORIX’s total compensation package for employees.
