The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

This role will be hybrid at LinkedIn's Mountain View, CA campus.

We are seeking a Senior Manager to be a part of our Trust Investigations team, a group of experts focused on identifying, investigating, and disrupting the most sophisticated and adversarial abuse targeting LinkedIn and its members, managing a hybrid team of technical investigators distributed across the Bay Area and remote locations throughout the United States.

In this role, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and overseeing the day-to-day operations of an investigations team embedded within cross-functional initiatives spanning Engineering, Data Science, and Product. The team operates with urgency and agility, responding to abuse incidents while proactively uncovering, analyzing, and mitigating emerging threats, including scams, abusive automation, and other high-priority trust and safety risks.

The ideal candidate has experience leading security, threat intelligence, fraud, or investigations teams and translating investigative insights into scalable solutions, including detection systems, enforcement rules, and ML/AI-driven capabilities. As the team continues to leverage AI for detection, analysis, and intelligence automation, this leader will play a key role in advancing and scaling those efforts while driving impact across LinkedIn's broader Trust organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of technical threat investigators focused on adversarial threats via incident response, proactive threat hunting, and root cause analyses of complex abuse.
  • Define and own program objectives, success and impact metrics for investigations focused on adversarial abuse that drive outcomes aligned with LinkedIn Trust's priorities.
  • Directly ensure quality, throughput, precision and innovation in investigative and incident response work to drive enforcement accuracy and actionable vulnerability identification.
  • Partner with senior ICs and leaders in Trust Engineering, Data, Product and Policy roles to ensure shared investigation and incident management priorities that align case outcomes to Trust's R&D strategy
  • Maintain and develop investigative tradecraft that is AI-first and addresses the evolving nature of adversarial abuse, with partners and independently.
  • Manage executive and partner communications on the outcomes of casework, incidents and root cause analyses to influence fast decision making in high consequence abuse situations.
  • Mentor individual contributors on technical, operational and organizational aspects of the job, enabling the team to invest in themselves and their technical capabilities
  • Lead the team in trend analysis, promoting thorough research and data-driven decision-making for effective fraud and abuse mitigation


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in cyber security, criminal justice or other related technical disciplines, or equivalent technical experience
  • 3+ years managing teams focused in a security operations, threat intel, or trust and safety investigations
  • 7+ years working on related subject matter including fraud and scams, account and content abuse, or targeted threat activity.
  • Experience with all-source investigation techniques, working with diverse structured and unstructured data sets in a security or Trust setting.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in cyber security, criminal justice or related technical disciplines
  • 9+ years experience in one or more of the following areas OR combination thereof:
    • Content moderation and policy enforcement
    • Counter-fraud or financial crime enforcement
  • Strong technical acumen and the ability to translate data and investigative outcomes into actionable insights for Engineering and AI partners as well as senior leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to inspire and influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining senior individual contributors, with a strong track record of building high performing teams.
  • Proactive threat and fraud hunting against large scale threats
  • Experience leading global teams spanning multiple locations/time zones
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex cross-functional dependencies and drive collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Experience working with SQL, Python or similar scripting languages
  • Experience working or managing projects that have enterprise-wide impact and/or multi-organization cross functional stakeholders.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $155,000 - $257,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
