Are you a transportation professional with a passion for building high performing teams while optimizing operations to deliver exceptional service? We're seeking a Sr. Transportation Manager to lead key functions of our North American Transportation Ops team including Dedicated Inbound, Deployment Planning and Interplant STO Transportation. As our Sr. Transportation Manager, you'll lead a group of 8-10 team members across 4 direct reports and play a critical role in developing and executing short and long-term transportation strategies that balance service and cost to support our Clorox business objectives.

The Senior Manager, Transportation Operations is responsible for leading a team that handles the inbound dedicated, deployment planning and all internal network freight moves. Critical responsibilities include team development and capability building, daily operations oversight, metric management and improvement, cost optimization, management of 3PL service provider, carrier accountability, as well as the development and execution of short-term and long-term transportation strategies that will deliver the optimal service and cost balance to support the Business directives at a network level.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee development and management of carrier operational strategies. Develop, manage, and leverage critical transportation carrier relationships to deliver short and long-term business objectives.
  • Effectively lead, coach and develop a team of 8-10 members consisting of 4 direct reports across Deployment, Inbound Dedicated and Regional Transportation teams to enable capability development and high-performance results within Clorox Transportation.
  • Lead efforts for service level improvements and transportation network optimization initiatives engaging all involved parties (internal and external).
  • Fully own and proactively manage transportation routing guide financials balancing contract freight while minimizing spot market exposure. Partner with procurement to secure and execute optimal freight cost, push back on network service gaps, and hold carriers accountable to meeting commitments.
  • Ownership of operational oversight and performance of 3PL partners managing daily freight execution. Requires a strong depth of knowledge, ability to pull insights and actions to hold partners and team accountable to business objectives.
  • Partner with other groups on strategic initiatives, providing transportation insights, subject matter expertise, and transportation solutions.
  • Stay updated on industry/market conditions and trends and leverage industry resources and knowledge to provide insight, identify best practices and new technology to drive results.

  • 7-10 years of experience required across Transportation, Logistics or Supply Chain preferred. Prior experience in CPG industry is highly desirable.
  • BS/BA degree required, preferred: degree in business, engineering, supply chain or logistics management.

Hybrid - 3 days a week in office; 2 days a week from home.

Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.

-Zone A: $131,200 - $258,500

-Zone B: $120,300 - $237,000

-Zone C: $109,400 - $215,500

This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox's incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
