Summary:

The Senior Manager, Business Intelligence / Innovation Analytics serves as a key strategic partner to cross-functional teams, overseeing the development and application of consumer, business, and market intelligence that places data-driven understanding at the foundation of strategy. This role bridges data and decision-making across the business and innovation lifecycle, from identifying opportunities and shaping strategy through forecasting, planning, and in-market performance.

The Senior Manager must be a forward thinker who challenges the status quo, leveraging research, analytics, and foresight to support strategic decisions. This individual will synthesize a breadth of information sources to understand consumer needs and market dynamics, identify and size growth opportunities, build brand health, and enable confident business decisions.

This individual will maintain a consulting and advisory role with senior management and must be comfortable presenting strategic recommendations to leaders across the organization. He/she should consistently demonstrate holistic thinking, strategic agility, and leadership at all levels while driving best practices in analytics and insights and building capabilities and talent.

Responsibilities

Specific focus areas and scopes will vary by business assignment; the Senior Manager will be responsible for a combination of the following:

Strategy & Opportunity Identification
  • Distill key consumer, market, and competitive trends into effective strategies and plans that drive business objectives.
  • Drive alignment across business stakeholders through objective, fact-based review of strategic initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of foresight, anticipating future business and market momentum over short- and long-term horizons.
  • Champion the synthesis of multiple data and research sources into unique insights that cut through data clutter and fill knowledge gaps.

Storytelling & Communication
  • Turn data and information into actionable insights, business recommendations, and clear calls to action.
  • Synthesize inputs from stakeholders and data sources into best-in-class communication that informs and empowers internal teams and external partners.
  • Frame findings to highlight opportunity, risk, and recommend action with clarity and confidence for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Performance Tracking & Business Analysis
  • Establish KPIs, measurement approaches, and best practices for evaluating business and initiative performance versus expectations and goals.
  • Monitor in-market performance, communicate drivers of success or gaps, and provide detailed, actionable recommendations.
  • Support analytics and insights across the complete product lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and clear visualization of complex information.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work in cross-functional teams across Marketing, Brand, Innovation, R&D, Sales, Supply Chain, Insights, Category, and external partners to ensure cohesive strategies.
  • Lead alignment forums to streamline communication around key metrics, learning, and performance drivers.
  • Build a culture of consumer focus and analytic rigor through thought leadership, training, and proactive trend and insight presentations.
  • Drive best practices in analytics and insights across the organization, building capabilities and advocacy for the discipline.


Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.

Experience
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in analytics, consumer insights, market research, category management, or business intelligence, with significant experience at a client-side branded consumer packaged goods company; food or beverage industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leveraging consumer knowledge, data, and insights to drive business results and influence strategy.
  • Experience reporting to and presenting recommendations to senior executives.

Special Skills
  • Excellent knowledge of marketing strategy, market research, and analytics fundamentals, including primary and secondary consumer research, syndicated research and data platforms (e.g., Nielsen, Circana/IRI, 84.51°, Luminate, NPD, Mintel), positioning and communication development, and strategic business analysis.
  • Strong forecasting capabilities, which may include volumetric and market share forecasting, distribution and velocity estimates, and consumer-based demand inputs.
  • Proficiency with reporting and data visualization tools, with a strong design eye for presentations.
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with proven ability to influence across functions and levels using data-driven insights.
  • Highly motivated leader with excellent planning and project management skills and the ability to devise solutions in unstructured situations.
  • Open-minded, flexible, and autonomous, with the ability to balance detail orientation and big-picture thinking in a fast-paced environment.
