Summary:The Senior Manager, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting is responsible for overseeing the preparation and filing of periodic reports with the SEC, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal control requirements. The Senior Manager will also manage the Company's equity administration and stock-based compensation accounting. This role partners closely with the broader Accounting/Finance team as well as with Legal, Investor Relations, and external auditors to support accurate and timely financial reporting and public company compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Prepare and review SEC filings, including:
- Forms 10-K and 10-Q
- Forms 8-K
- Proxy Statements (DEF 14A)
- Registration Statements (S-3, S-8, etc.)
- Section 16 filings, as applicable
- Partner with Legal and Investor Relations to ensure consistency of public disclosures across SEC filings, earnings materials, and investor communications
- Research and document technical accounting issues and emerging accounting standards
- Manage the Company's equity administration function, including stock option, RSU, PSU, and ESPP programs, and oversee the accounting, valuation support, and SEC disclosures related to stock-based compensation
- Support SOX compliance efforts related to financial reporting and disclosure controls
- Collaborate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Provide support for various accounting, tax, and operational projects as needed to meet business objectives
JOB QUALIFICATIONSEducation, Certifications and Experience:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Requires CPA and 5+ years of relevant accounting experience preferably in the public biotech/pharmaceutical or public accounting environment
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
- Knowledge of SEC disclosure modernization and XBRL requirements
- Experience with stock-based compensation accounting a plus
- Experience with Wdesk - Workiva a plus
- Experience with E*Trade Equity Edge a plus
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Special Working Conditions:- Preferred location is San Diego, CA (hybrid). This position may also be performed remotely by candidates residing within the United States.
The expected salary range for this position is listed below. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. This position also qualifies for the benefits as listed below.
