Job Description Summary
As Senior Manager - Global Quality Engineering & Continuous Improvement for Dead-tank high-voltage circuit breakers product portfolio, you will lead the definition, deployment, and sustainment of quality engineering processes across the complete product scope. This role defines and implements core quality tools (FMEA, Process control plans, MSA, SPC), establishes governing processes and standards, and ensures all NPI quality deliverables are executed in line with the Confluence NPI process. This position leads to and coaches structure root cause analysis, ensuring effective deployment and sustainment of problem-solving methodologies. As a subject matter expert in Dead-tank high-voltage circuit breakers products, this position leads investigation and resolution of complex quality issues, drives first pass yield improvements, and ensures systematic integration of lessons learned from field performance, customer feedback, and manufacturing operations. This position defines and leads "Quality Built-In" strategies, ensures successful production transfers, and governs the capture and analysis of reliability metrics to drive continuous improvement.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for defining, deploying, and sustaining quality engineering and assurance processes across the product lifecycle.
  • Leads the implementation of core quality engineering tools-including Design and Process FMEA, Process Control Plans, MSA, and SPC-and defines the governing processes, standards, and documentation required to deploy these methodologies consistently across Dead-tank high-voltage circuit breakers product portfolio /Dead -tank product manufacturing sites.
  • Lead and ensure completion of all NPI Quality deliverables in line with the Confluence NPI process and checklists, securing full compliance prior to each BOD stage-gate approval.
  • Serves as a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and problem-solving coach, training and supporting RCA leaders across functions to ensure that structured problem-solving methodologies are effectively deployed, embedded, and sustained.
  • As an expert in Quality domain and subject matter, leads the investigation, Structured root cause analysis and resolution of complex quality and product failures, both at manufacturing sites and at customer locations, delivering robust corrective and preventive actions. Also leads and resolves Dead-tank high-voltage circuit breakers products which do not meet first pass yield (FPY) targets and secure that the FPY results are achieved and sustained across all models.
  • This position is also to define and lead the systematic integration of lessons learned from Field performance, Root causes analysis and corrective actions & preventive actions for quality, technical issues and associated quality nonconformities from customer sites and at the manufacturing lines /routine test beds. These learnings are translated into Design FMEA and Process FMEA updates, driving continuous product and process robustness.
  • Drive high-impact Quality Kaizen initiatives across plants by leading and enabling plant quality teams.
  • Identify and drive harmonization initiatives across product groups to enhance product quality and simplify Quality control and Quality assurance processes.
  • Implement structured manufacturing process audits across plants to identify gaps and enhance product quality, covering all processes-including routine testing-for Dead-tank high-voltage circuit breakers products
  • In addition, the role defines and deploys "Quality Built-In" strategies, focusing on:
  • Reduction of high-severity failure mode occurrence
  • Implementation of mistake-proofing (L1 process controls)
  • Deployment of early warning systems (L2 process controls)
  • Strengthening detection controls and defect escape prevention mechanisms
  • The role provides strong quality leadership for Transfer of Work (TOW) projects, ensuring quality is planned and achieved in assurance mode, enabling smooth production ramp-up and stable serial production through proactive risk identification and robust process controls.

Additionally, this position defines and governs the systematic capture, analysis, and monitoring of reliability and availability metrics, including MTBF and failure rates, to support data-driven quality and reliability improvement initiatives

Qualifications and Skills

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering

Technical Expertise
  • Expert in diagnosing mechanical, insulation failures and application failures
  • Proven ability to lead field investigations and drive effective corrective actions
  • Skilled in interpreting/Classify PD patterns and Identify root causes in Dead-tank high-voltage circuit breakers products
  • Guides plant quality teams in PD analysis, troubleshooting, and implementing corrective actions
  • Quality Engineering, Risk Management & Quality problem solving
  • Expert in core quality tools, including FMEA (Design &Process), measurement system analysis (MSA), and process control plans, with track record of coaching teams.
  • Skilled at identifying Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) characteristics and implementing both prevention and detection controls.
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC), capability analysis, and data-driven decision-making to reduce process variation.
  • Demonstrates proven success in quality problem solving, utilizing methodologies such as 8D, A3, why-why, Fault tree and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • The candidate must be a certified Root Cause Analysis (RCA) coach, with proven experience in facilitating structured problem-solving sessions.
  • Extensive experience and expertise in driving high-impact Quality Kaizen initiatives to deliver sustained product quality improvements
  • Extensive experience and expertise in conducting in-depth manufacturing process audits and ISO 9001 system audits.

The base pay range for this position is $123,700.00 - 206,100.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15 % performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.

Intégrer une ressource permanente, rattachée à l'équipe centrale PT-Quality, afin de couvrir l'ensemble du périmètre Quality Engineering pour le NPI dans le domaine produit des disjoncteurs Dead-tank, incluant :
  • Être responsable de la définition, du déploiement et de la pérennisation des processus d'ingénierie et d'assurance qualité sur l'ensemble du cycle de vie produit.
  • Piloter la mise en œuvre des outils fondamentaux de l'ingénierie qualité - notamment l'AMDEC Conception et Process, les plans de contrôle process, la MSA et le SPC - et définir les processus, standards et documents de gouvernance nécessaires pour déployer ces méthodologies de manière cohérente sur le portefeuille de produits de disjoncteurs haute tension à cuve morte et sur les sites de fabrication associés.
  • Piloter et garantir l'achèvement de tous les livrables qualité du NPI conformément au processus et aux check-lists Confluence NPI, en assurant une conformité totale avant chaque validation de jalon BOD stage-gate.
  • Agir en tant que coach en analyse des causes racines (RCA) et en résolution de problèmes, en formant et en accompagnant les leaders RCA au sein des différentes fonctions afin de garantir que les méthodologies structurées de résolution de problèmes soient efficacement déployées, intégrées et maintenues dans le temps.
  • En tant qu'expert du domaine qualité et référent technique, piloter l'investigation, l'analyse structurée des causes racines et la résolution de défaillances complexes liées à la qualité et aux produits, tant sur les sites de fabrication que chez les clients, en mettant en place des actions correctives et préventives robustes. Le poste consiste également à piloter la résolution des problématiques sur les produits de disjoncteurs haute tension à cuve morte n'atteignant pas les objectifs de FPY, et à garantir l'atteinte et la pérennité des résultats FPY sur tous les modèles.
  • Définir et piloter l'intégration systématique des retours d'expérience issus de la performance terrain, des analyses de causes racines, ainsi que des actions correctives et préventives liées aux problèmes qualité, techniques et aux non-conformités associées, provenant des sites clients et des lignes de fabrication / bancs d'essais de routine. Ces enseignements sont traduits en mises à jour de l'AMDEC Conception et de l'AMDEC Process, afin de renforcer en continu la robustesse des produits et des processus.
  • Piloter des initiatives Kaizen Qualité à fort impact sur les sites industriels, en dirigeant et en soutenant les équipes qualité des usines.
  • Identifier et conduire des initiatives d'harmonisation entre groupes de produits afin d'améliorer la qualité produit et de simplifier les processus de contrôle et d'assurance qualité.
  • Mettre en œuvre des audits structurés des processus de fabrication sur les différents sites afin d'identifier les écarts et d'améliorer la qualité produit, sur l'ensemble des processus - y compris les essais de routine - pour les disjoncteurs haute tension à cuve morte.
  • En complément, ce poste définit et déploie les stratégies de " Quality Built-In ", en mettant l'accent sur :
    • la réduction de l'occurrence des modes de défaillance à forte sévérité ;
    • la mise en œuvre de dispositifs anti-erreur / poka-yoke (contrôles process de niveau 1 - L1) ;
    • le déploiement de systèmes d'alerte précoce (contrôles process de niveau 2 - L2) ;
    • le renforcement des contrôles de détection et des mécanismes de prévention des échappements de défauts.
  • Assurer un leadership qualité fort pour les projets de Transfer of Work (TOW), en veillant à ce que la qualité soit planifiée et atteinte en mode assurance, afin de permettre une montée en cadence fluide de la production et une production série stable grâce à l'identification proactive des risques et à des contrôles process robustes.
  • Définir et superviser de manière systématique la collecte, l'analyse et le suivi des indicateurs de fiabilité et de disponibilité, y compris le MTBF et les taux de défaillance, afin de soutenir des initiatives d'amélioration de la qualité et de la fiabilité fondées sur les données.
