Job Summary

As part of the Large Power Systems Division's Culture of Quality Transformation, LPSD is establishing a Divisional Quality Manager role to provide enterprise-level quality leadership across the division. This position will lead the development and execution of a holistic divisional quality strategy designed to strengthen customer-focused quality outcomes, drive process excellence, and advance a culture where quality is reflected in everything we do.

The Divisional Quality Manager will facilitate collaboration across product groups, supplier development, manufacturing, operations, and product support organizations to improve quality performance throughout the value chain. The role will act as a trusted advisor to divisional leadership, providing strategic guidance on quality culture, quality system health, quality governance, and continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Establish and maintain a divisional quality strategy.
  • Define leading and lagging quality metrics.
  • Drive CQMS process excellence across the division.
  • Facilitate governance and resolution of cross-facility quality issues.
  • Accelerate replication of proven quality processes and technologies.
  • Champion customer defect feedback loops and continuous improvement.

  • Champion LPSD's Culture of Quality Transformation.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Product, Manufacturing, Operations, and Supplier Development leaders.
  • Establish and manage divisional quality metrics.
  • Evaluate CQMS process robustness and support continuous improvement activities.
  • Benchmark internal and external quality technologies and support divisional deployment.
  • Champion customer feedback loops and corrective action processes.
  • Establish and facilitate divisional quality council.

Skills that you MUST have:

Quality Management System (QMS): Extensive knowledge of Quality Management System's (QMS) functions, features, and capabilities; ability to design, implement, test, and maintain Quality Management Systems to consistently meet customer requirements and regulatory compliances.

Strategic Thinking: Expert knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Extensive knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Relationship Management: Extensive knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Influencing: Expert knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization. Strong abilities to influence in a matrixed organization.

Planning and Organizing: Extensive knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.

Problem Solving: Extensive knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experiences:

  • Significant experience and knowledge in quality, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, operations, or related disciplines; as well as the quality processes associated
  • Demonstrated success leading quality improvement initiatives.
  • Experience as a leader of leaders with or without authority

Top Candidates will also demonstrate the following:

  • Multi-facility quality leadership experience.
  • APQP, PPAP, FMEA, supplier quality, and manufacturing quality expertise.
  • Experience with CQMS, BIQ, and Caterpillar quality processes.
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide change initiatives.

Additional Information

  • This role can be located in any US based LPSD facility with preference for Mossville, IL, Lafayette, IN, Griffin, GA, or Pontiac, IL
  • This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
  • Travel up to 25% is possible
  • Relocation is available for this position.

Summary Pay Range:

$172,630.00 - $258,950.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location,job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
