Job Description:

The Senior Manager, Purchasing, provides strategic direction and leadership to the Longview purchasing department, ensuring that sourcing decisions support AAON's operational and financial objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of global supply chains, supplier risk management, and cost optimization in a manufacturing environment.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and execute long-term procurement strategies that align with company goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing purchasing team, including buyers and expeditors.
  • Establish and maintain strong supplier partnerships to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance to forecast material needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in sourcing, procurement processes, and supplier performance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.


Work Location, Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Role will be located at the Longview, TX facility. No remote or hybrid schedule.
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, and 7+ years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain leadership


Preferred: Master's degree in Business or Supply Chain; certifications such as CPSM, CPM, or APICS/CSCP; experience in HVAC or industrial manufacturing.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Extensive knowledge of strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier development.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing procurement teams.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, procurement analytics, and supply chain software.
  • Ability to manage complex supplier networks and global sourcing challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across all organizational levels or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
