Senior Manager, Project Management - Business Cards and Payments
The Role
As a Senior Manager of Project Management in BC&P, you will collaborate with smart and passionate leaders to influence results that have a direct impact on the company27s bottom line. You will lead a team of project managers to deliver important and exciting projects, working alongside key stakeholders across the company. Although the opportunities are endless, the core responsibilities of a Senior Manager of Project Management include:
Lead the delivery of high-priority initiatives and work streams that span across Business Cards and Payments and Capital One, directly and through a team of project managers
Design, develop, and manage project plans and delivery roadmaps in a complex dynamic environment
Partner with project customers to provide strategic and tactical recommendations in support of project delivery
Drive solutions to complex problems across cross-functional teams by applying sound business judgment to navigate trade-offs between competing priorities
Manage a large set of stakeholders
Effectively manage scope, schedule, resources and budget
Communicate status, impediments, and risks/issues across all levels of the program
Deliver results and influence business outcomes across all levels of the organization
Influence and manage stakeholders and intent owners across COF ranging from VP+ to associate
The person will:
Lead a team of project managers
Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project / program efforts
Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment
Display a passion for coaching and developing a team of associates through their leadership style
Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor27s Degree or Military experience
- At least 6 Years of Project Management or Program Management experience
- At least 2 Year of People Management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters / MBA degree
- 8+ years of Project Management or Program Management experience
- 2+ years of Product Management experience
- 4+ years of People Management experience
- PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification
- Strong written and oral communication skills

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $177,700 - $202,800 for Sr Manager, Project ManagementRichmond, VA: $161,500 - $184,300 for Sr Manager, Project Management
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate27s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
