Full Job Description
Rackspace Technology is seeking a Senior Manager, Professional Services Delivery to lead a delivery team responsible for successfully executing private cloud, infrastructure transformation, migration, and consulting engagements.

This role combines hands-on delivery leadership, team management, workforce planning, and engagement governance. You'll lead technical professionals across multiple disciplines, making sure customer commitments are met on time, with quality, and within budget - while helping improve how the team delivers along the way.

This is a working leadership role for someone comfortable moving between day-to-day delivery problems, staffing decisions, and process improvement.

Work Location and Travel: United States of America

- Candidates who live in the San Antonio, TX area will work a hybrid schedule with two days in the office.

- If you are not located near San Antonio, TX, you may work 100% remotely.

- Travel up to 10% per business requirements for on-site customer engagements.

What You Will Do

Delivery Leadership

  • Own delivery for a portfolio of Professional Services engagements across private cloud, infrastructure modernization, migration, and transformation projects.


  • Act as the escalation point for delivery, staffing, and project risks within your team.


  • Make sure projects are properly staffed, tracked, and governed to meet customer and business expectations.


  • Take ownership of customer satisfaction, delivery quality, and project financial performance.


People Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead and develop architects, consultants, engineers, and delivery professionals on your team.


  • Coach team members, manage performance, and support career growth and succession planning.


  • Identify skill gaps and recommend hiring, training, or partner support to meet upcoming demand.


  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.


Capacity Planning and Resource Management

  • Manage workforce planning, utilization, and capacity forecasting for current and upcoming customer work.


  • Align staffing with delivery commitments and business needs.


  • Recommend hiring, contractor, or partner support where needed.


  • Balance resource deployment against team workload and morale.


Professional Services Governance

  • Review Statements of Work (SOWs), resource plans, estimates, and delivery risks before project kickoff.


  • Confirm engagements are properly scoped and operationally feasible for your team.


  • Work with Sales, Solutions Architects, Legal, Finance, and Customer Success to resolve delivery issues.


  • Make the call on engagement exceptions and complex delivery situations within your area.


Delivery Methodology and Continuous Improvement

  • Improve delivery frameworks, project controls, and reporting standards used by your team.


  • Standardize execution approaches while allowing flexibility for customer-specific needs.


  • Apply lessons learned from past projects to future engagements.


Commercial and Operational Excellence

  • Make sure delivery commitments are realistic, profitable, and achievable.


  • Work with Finance and Operations to manage utilization and project margins.


  • Support contract reviews, change requests, and customer negotiations as needed.


  • Oversee smooth handoff of completed projects into steady-state support.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.


  • 8+ years of experience in Professional Services, consulting, infrastructure delivery, or enterprise technology services.


  • 3+ years of experience managing technical teams or delivery projects.


  • Experience leading customer programs and technology implementations.


  • Background in workforce planning, resource management, and utilization tracking.


  • Experience reviewing Statements of Work, delivery estimates, and commercial commitments.


  • Comfortable presenting to stakeholders and leading customer-facing discussions.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering private cloud, VMware, infrastructure modernization, migration, or data center transformation programs.


  • Experience supporting healthcare, financial services, government, or other highly regulated industries.


  • Knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), virtualization, networking, storage, security, backup, disaster recovery, and infrastructure automation concepts.


  • Experience working within a Professional Services or consulting organization.


  • Experience managing fixed-fee, milestone-based, time and materials, or outcome-based delivery engagements.


Success in the First 12 Months

The compensation range for this position ranges from $132,149.00/year in our lowest geographic market up to 193,856.30 USD/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
