Full Job Description
The Senior Manager, Pipeline & Portfolio Market Planning is responsible for leading key program-level planning and analytical activities that inform oncology product strategy and portfolio decision-making. This role integrates market research, competitive intelligence, clinical and commercial insights, financial forecasting, and cross-functional perspectives to develop clear recommendations for select pipeline programs. The Senior Manager will independently lead defined workstreams, contribute to broader portfolio initiatives, and help translate complex data into actionable strategies that maximize program and portfolio value.
Responsibilities
• Lead defined program-level strategy projects and planning initiatives to maximize portfolio value and inform key business decisions
• Synthesize primary market research, secondary data, competitive intelligence, and analytics into clear insights and strategic recommendations
• Provide physician, patient, and payer perspectives to support clinical strategy, indication prioritization, product positioning, and new product planning
• Develop, maintain, and enhance long-range revenue forecasts, business cases, and portfolio valuations for new and existing programs
• Lead competitive landscape assessments and manage competitive intelligence tools and reporting to identify market developments, risks, and opportunities
• Partner cross-functionally with Development, Commercial, Medical Affairs, Finance, Market Access, and other functions to support integrated planning workstreams
• Conduct asset assessments and support due diligence for internal pipeline opportunities, external partnerships, and business development initiatives
• Contribute to indication selection and sequencing, patient journey and treatment paradigm analyses, product differentiation, positioning, value proposition, and market access and pricing assessments
• Lead ad hoc strategic projects and present structured recommendations to cross-functional leaders and senior management

Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Technical Proficiencies
• Demonstrated ability to lead strategic planning and analytical workstreams within the biopharmaceutical industry, with a preference to life sciences strategy consulting experience
• Strong market research, competitive intelligence, and financial modeling capabilities, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations
• Ability to integrate scientific, clinical, commercial, regulatory, and financial perspectives into a clear product or program strategy
• Strong understanding of the drug development process across early- and late-stage programs
• Effective communication and presentation skills, including the ability to develop compelling business narratives and present recommendations to senior leadership
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate in a matrixed environment across Development, Commercial, Medical Affairs, Finance, Market Access, and other functions
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and timelines
• Ability to quickly learn new therapeutic areas and work with a high degree of independence and sound judgment
• Occasional travel required for corporate and industry events
Preferred Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree preferred (MBA, MSc, PhD, PharmD)
• 6-8 years of relevant professional experience in new product planning, commercialization, market research, corporate strategy, investment banking, and/or healthcare strategy consulting
• Biopharmaceutical industry experience within oncology, required
• Experience supporting or participating on a cross-functional drug development team preferred
The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this headquarters-based position is $193,770 - $227,880; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on legitimate considerations, including geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
