What's the Position?

We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and strategic Senior Manager of Payments Analytics to lead and evolve our payments operations and strategy across the organization. This role will be responsible for overseeing payment processing performance, optimizing payment operations, managing key vendor relationships, driving operational efficiencies, and ensuring seamless customer payment experience across multiple payment channels and products.

You'll bring a strong blend of strategic leadership, operational expertise, and analytical problem-solving within the payments and fintech space. You'll need deep knowledge of payment processing ecosystems, compliance requirements, risk mitigation, and ecommerce payment flows while thriving in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

This role will report directly to the Director of Payments.

Key Responsibilities

Payments Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop and execute a scalable payments strategy aligned with HRD's operational and business objectives.
  • Lead initiatives focused on improving payment acceptance rates, reducing payment friction, and optimizing payment performance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on payment operations, processors, and industry best practices.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Risk, Fraud, Compliance, Product, and Operations teams to support strategic business initiatives.


Payment Operations & Optimization
  • Monitor payment performance metrics, transaction trends, declines, chargebacks, disputes, and operational KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve authorization rates, reduce processing costs, and enhance customer experience.
  • Analyze payment data and operational trends to proactively identify gaps, risks, and optimization opportunities.
  • Develop scalable operational processes and reporting frameworks to support business growth.


Vendor & Processor Management
  • Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate operational improvements, and ensure service level expectations are met.
  • Partners with vendors and internal teams to implement enhancements and support new payment capabilities.


Compliance, Risk & Regulatory Oversight
  • Partner closely with Fraud and Risk teams to support payment security and operational integrity.
  • Assist in identifying and mitigating operational and financial risks associated with payment processing activities.


Technology & Process Improvement
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to improve payment infrastructure, workflows, and integrations.
  • Support implementation of new payment methods, tools, and technologies to scale operations efficiently.
  • Drive automation and operational efficiencies through data-driven decision making and process enhancement initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in payments, payment operations, fintech, ecommerce, risk management, or related fields, preferably within the iGaming, online payments, or ecommerce industry.
  • Strong understanding of payment processing ecosystems including credit cards, ACH, PayPal, digital wallets, and alternative payment methods.
  • Experience managing payment processors, gateways, banking relationships, and third-party vendors.
  • Proven success optimizing payment performance, operational workflows, and payment acceptance strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex operational concepts into actionable business insights.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large data sets and make data-driven decisions.
  • Knowledge of payment compliance requirements, regulatory standards, and card brand rules.
  • Experience handling chargebacks, disputes, payment risk, and operational escalations preferred.
  • Familiarity with SQL, reporting tools, AI and data analytics platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly within a fast-paced environment.
