Job Overview

Opportunities to build a world-class operation from the ground up do not come along often. This is more than a warehouse leadership role, it's a rare opportunity to launch, develop, and lead a brand-new Komatsu master distribution operation in the Mesa, Arizona area.

As the Sr. Manager, Distribution Operations, you will provide strategic and operatinal leadership for all warehousing, distribution, inventory, and fulfillment activities. You will be responsible for building a high-performing team, driving continuous improvement initiatives, implementingautomation solutions, and ensuring exceptional service delivery to internal and external customers.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead, manage, and champion production, warehousing, and distribution operations for entirety of Mesa Distribution facilities.
  • Lead and motivate a multi-faceted, diverse team through various aspects of product receipt and order fulfilment.
  • Drive projects and identified process improvements to sustainable conclusion.
  • Direct and execute expedient, responsive handling of receipts, replenishments, put away, pick, pack, and shipping.
  • Provide powerful diagnostics covering fulfilment, warehousing, distribution, and human resource performance.
  • Support automation objectives and successful implementation of warehouse systems.
  • Align relationships to deliver production and customer-specific product and service enhancements.


Key Job Responsibilities

Essential Functions
  • Lead by example, coaching, motivating, and developing the operational management team and direct labor.
  • Meet performance standards, demonstrate commitment to those standards and productivity goals, developing SOPs for Distribution, Service Center, storage, and warehousing operations.
  • Decisively solve operational problems and adapt to quickly changing situations to meet production and customer requirements.
  • Develop and administer sophisticated planning, system improvements, and control policies within the distribution and logistics network.
  • Manage budgets, quality and safety reviews, performance metrics, and process improvements.
  • Drive adherence to established procedures while encouraging innovation and coaching others.
  • Analyze management personnel efficacy and provide appropriate training and enrichment.
  • Deliver a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Process over $300m in sales, managing over 75,000 SKU's, more than 280,000 sq ft of operations, and $10M in operational expense.


Qualifications/Requirements

Required Skills
  • Four-year college degree.
  • 7 - 10 years operations experience.
  • 5 - 7 years supervisory experience managing people and processes in warehouse, distribution, and/or logistics operations.
  • Highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills who can work independently, lead teams, influence others, develop and coach others.
  • Managing large budgets and teams.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and customer service, business orientation.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP, WMS, TMS, and MS Windows/Office.
  • Solid understanding of Information Technology requirements, enabling capabilities, and system improvements.
  • Exceptional problem solving, fact finding, and communication skills.
  • Detail oriented, creative with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in fast paced, demanding environment.
  • Self-starter, taking initiative and being committed to results, the team, the customers.


Additional Information

Consistent with a typical Komatsu office environment. The incumbent may be required to travel periodically, occasionally to remote locations.
