Full Job Description
Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Manager of Income Tax to join our Tax Division in Kennesaw, GA. In this role you will lead the organization's tax compliance activities to ensure full adherence to federal, state, and international tax laws. You will oversee tax reporting, manage audits, assist with strategic and planning activities to identify tax-saving opportunities, and partner with executive leadership to support business decisions with expert tax guidance. The Senior Manager of Income Tax directs a team of tax professionals, drives process improvements, and ensures accurate, timely tax filings and financial reporting.

What you'll be doing:
  • Manage, review, and prepare corporate federal and state income tax returns, including all domestic and foreign-related items that have an impact on the federal income tax return
  • Manage annual R&D tax credit study
  • Manage, review, and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual income tax provisions, including tax journal entries
  • Coordinate with internal and external audit teams for review of provisions, workpapers, and journal entries
  • Prepare annual financial statements footnotes and related disclosures
  • Manage, review, and prepare other tax filings, including but not limited to Canadian tax returns, Forms 1120-F, state franchise returns, annual reports, and business licenses
  • Work with domestic and international affiliates on their tax and financial-related reporting requirements
  • Respond to state and federal notices as needed
  • Support tax audits by the federal and state taxing authorities
  • Assist with indirect tax filings and projects as needed
  • Address any ad hoc tax questions and support internal clients
  • Stay current on relevant tax law changes
  • Research and provide guidance on complex tax issues
  • Support tax planning and structuring of transactions
  • Manage and mentor a team of tax professionals
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you need to be successful:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA license required
  • 10+ years of compliance experience in large Corporate Income Tax, with combined experience in large CPA firms and in-house tax departments
  • Experience with international taxes a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) with at least intermediate level Excel skills, Enterprise Resource Planning systems (SAP preferred), and tax research and compliance software
  • Strong interpersonal and written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with internal corporate business partners, external auditors, and tax authorities
  • Ability to be flexible to meet demanding deadlines and time schedules
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills required
  • Self-starter
