Position Overview:We are seeking a driven and strategic Senior Manager of Material Planning & Operations to lead and optimize material readiness within our production organization. This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring smooth operations and aligning material planning strategies with overarching business objectives. You will oversee a high-performing team of Project Material Managers, collaborate cross-functionally with various departments, and play a central role in maintaining seamless material flow under fast-paced and complex production conditions. This position directly contributes to predictable and efficient performance in our manufacturing operations by translating strategic initiatives into disciplined execution while maintaining high visibility across the organization.
What your day-to-day will look like:- Lead and develop a high-performing team of Material Project Managers by setting clear goals, establishing measurable performance standards, and driving team growth through mentorship and coaching.
- Drive material availability and provide transparent inventory reporting to meet production demands and ensure smooth operational success.
- Manage key performance metrics, including inventory projections, on-time delivery (OTD), and excess & obsolete (E&O) analysis, aligning with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, program management, and production teams to address availability risks and enhance supply chain efficiency.
- Implement best practices in supply chain planning while leveraging data analytics and emerging technologies to drive innovation and improve decision-making.
To thrive in this role, you have:- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience in Siemens or the rail manufacturing industry).
- Proven leadership with 10+ years of experience managing teams in Materials Management, Procurement, Inventory Control, or Production Planning within a manufacturing environment. Candidates without direct team management experience will not be considered for this position.
- Outstanding skills in analyzing, interpreting, and clearly communicating complex business and material data to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Expertise in SAP MRP, strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with ISO or TL9000 standards.
- Exceptional ability to manage, coach, and develop high-performing teams, solving complex challenges under fast-paced production demands.

The base salary for this position is $130,000 - $160,000 and the annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
