Job Description:

Job Purpose:

This Senior Manager - Indirect Contracting role has ownership of the Contracting Center of Excellence, a global team that is tasked with the creation, maintenance, negotiation, and approval process for contracts. This centralized team is a critical part of the indirect procurement process, engaging in the creation of legal documents, negotiating legal terms with suppliers, and working with partners in the legal team to gain approval.

Accountability for this role includes:
  • Managing the delivery performance of the global teams
  • Driving, leading, and developing innovation throughout the teams
  • Creating and maintaining a culture that is aligned with our Strategic behaviors
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders from indirect procurement, business partners, and legal partners.


This role is a central business-facing role as Indirect procurement looks to enable AI-based solutions throughout the stack. Given the importance of this work, the high demand on the team and the standardization already in place, implementing AI solutions is a top priority for this role. Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership within a procurement or legal-facing aspect. .
  • Minimum 3 years of centralized service ownership, with accountability for setting and meeting KPIs globally.
  • 4 year college degree or 10+ years of commensurate experience


Top Candidates Will Also Have:
  • Experience managing global teams with regional leadership in place
  • A Lean or Continuous Improvement background
  • A proven ability to understand data and drive continuous improvement based on data.
  • A proven ability to communicate detailed procurement information in a clear way, translating as needed to ensure collaboration through different aspects of the Indirect business.
  • Specific experience within a contracting COE.


Summary Pay Range:

$159,120.00 - $238,680.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
