About the roleAs the next Market Director, Investment Product Distribution at ATB Investment Management Inc. (ATBIM), you will develop and deliver strategic communications specific to ATBIM's mutual funds ensuring financial advisors are informed, engaged and have the tools they need to promote and sell ATBIM's products and strategies to clients.
Under the direction of the AVP PIC & Investment Distribution, you will lead the internal sales function for ATBIM's suite of products. You will act as an integral ecosystem partner within ATB Wealth by delivering information about our products to financial advisors in all regions. As a relationship manager and technical expert working with ATB Wealth Senior Financial Advisors (SFAs) and Financial Advisors (FAs), a key measurable will be increasing penetration of ATBIM's suite of products. To deliver those sales results, you will focus on building and enhancing relationships by educating and meeting the various business needs of advisors and assisting them in delivering the ATBIM investment philosophy and value proposition to Albertans.
You will work closely with the ATBIM Fund Portfolio Management team, senior leaders and other experts, as well as ATBIM's sub-advisors, to promote ATBIM's products at conferences, roadshows and client events. This position will be highly visible and will act as a brand ambassador and moderator for advisor and client calls and presentations. This position will also lead sponsorship efforts and will work with event planners and other partners to ensure ATBIM projects the right image at events and elevate our brand.
Accountabilities- Create and implement a business plan to connect with advisors
- Responsible for developing high trust relationships with financial advisors
- Understand all products ATBIM offers and educate the advisor community on ATBIM's competitive advantage
- Organize and host calls, panels and podcasts with ATBIM's sub-advisors and portfolio managers in order to promote the funds to ATB Wealth advisors
- Regularly meet with advisors in all regions, to ensure the value of the ATBIM suite of products is understood and properly positioned to existing and prospective clients
- Attend industry events and conferences to host financial advisors on behalf of the fund company (ATBIM)
- Works in partnership with stakeholders to ensure effective change communications related to ATBIM's funds
- Travel frequently within Alberta to meet with financial advisors in person, as required for promotion of the funds
Skills, experience & requirements- A university degree in business or other related programs.
- Investment sales/advisory experience or related education strongly preferred (CFA, CFP, CSC or CIM)
- 5-10 years of related experience
- Thorough knowledge of the investment industry (structure, products, trends), with particular emphasis on diversified investment portfolios primarily using managed products (mutual funds, managed account programs, pooled funds)
- A strong team player who is adept at building relationships and collaborating to achieve shared goals
- Ability to manage stakeholders and influence decisions
- Ability to prioritize and manage expectations
- Proactive, solutions-oriented and very high attentive to detail
- Critical thinking and problem solving
