Full Job Description

The Divisional Finance organization at Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) provides business support and partnership for all finance related matters for their group(s), primarily ensuring that strong financial discipline and analysis is in place to support the decision making across each division and SPE towards achieving its goals and objectives.

Reporting to the Director, Finance, this role will support financial planning, investment analysis, and strategic decision making across corporate operations, including facilities and related capital initiatives. It is based in Culver City.

The successful candidate for the role will have hands-on experience and a strong track record of financial reporting and analysis, process improvement, interaction with senior operational and financial management, and excellent critical thinking, analytical, collaboration, presentation, & communication skills. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and present dynamic financial models and business cases to enable timely decision making
  • Lead and take accountability for the full P&L development of global annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly results analysis at the departmental and divisional level
  • Analyze financial performance and synthesize key drivers into clear insights and recommendations for senior leadership
  • Develop report packages and presentation decks for department leads, executives, and corporate submissions
  • Own the end-to-end capital governance process, from inception to depreciation
  • Maintain hands-on ownership of financial planning and analysis deliverables, managing timelines, priorities, and cross-functional inputs to ensure high-quality outputs
  • Work cross-functionally with other teams (such as finance operations, procurement, facilities, etc) to support financial objectives and streamline processes
  • Drive the assessment and optimization of key processes around financial planning, management reporting, capital projects governance, and results analysis

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance; MBA preferred
  • 7+ years experience in financial planning & analysis in real estate, entertainment, or technology companies, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
  • Experience in preparing and analyzing P&L, Cash Flow, and Balance Sheet statements
  • Experience in tracking and reporting capital spend/projects
  • Experience in building financial models and templates
  • Strong understanding of IFRS
  • Advanced user of Excel and Powerpoint
  • Experience with enterprise planning systems (e.g. SAP, Hyperion, etc.) and business intelligence tools (e.g. SAP BW, Power BI, Tableau, Essbase, etc.)
  • Self-starter with strong, proactive communication and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to structure complex financial problems, develop analytical frameworks, and translate findings into clear recommendations
  • Ability to communicate financial concepts across all levels of the organization
  • Skilled at data visualization, creating impactful presentation & deliverables
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment, balancing analytical rigor with practical decision support

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience or familiarity with real estate finance highly preferred
  • Prior consolidation experience
  • Experience or familiarity with project management concepts and tools
  • Experience leading process optimization initiatives

The anticipated base salary for this position is $125,000-$155,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
