Job DescriptionI. Job SummaryThe Senior Manager, Digital Vendor Management Office (VMO) is a foundational leadership role responsible for standing up and operationalizing a next-generation vendor management capability across the Digital organization.
This role will lead the transition from a fragmented, contract-driven vendor landscape to a strategic, value-driven vendor ecosystem, improving cost transparency, strengthening supplier governance, and driving measurable cost optimization.
Working in close partnership with Digital leadership, Finance, Supply Chain, this leader will define and implement the target vendor model, governance structures, and engagement processes required to deliver sustained value from third-party investments.
II. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesVMO Setup & Vendor Model Transformation
- Lead the design and implementation of the Vendor Management Office (VMO) as a core Digital capability
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external advisors to:
- Establish a baseline view of new vendor landscape (spend, contracts, roles, performance)
- Drive the transition from a highly fragmented vendor environment to a simplified, strategic vendor ecosystem
- Stand up governance forums, operating cadence, and decision frameworks to support the new model
Cost Optimization
- Identify and support execution of cost optimization opportunities across all strategic vendor engagements
- Partner with Supply Chain to institutionalize end-to-end visibility into vendor spend, including, Professional services and staff augmentation, SaaS and subscription costs
- Deliver standardized reporting and dashboards to provide vendor-level spend insights
- Define and track clear savings targets and value realization metrics
Performance, Risk & Value Assurance
- Implement frameworks to ensure vendors deliver against expected value and outcomes
- Partner cross-functionally to monitor and report on: Financial performance, Service quality and delivery outcomes, Contract compliance and risk exposure
- Establish a continuous improvement model to evolve vendor performance and value over time
Strategic Supplier Governance & Engagement
- Establish and lead governance for strategic and high-value vendors, including:
- Executive business reviews (QBRs)
- Performance management against SLAs and KPIs
- Issue escalation and resolution frameworks
- Define differentiated engagement approaches based on vendor segmentation (strategic vs. transactional)
- Build strong, value-driven relationships with key suppliers to drive:
- Performance accountability
- Innovation and continuous improvement
- Ensure alignment between vendor capabilities and Digital strategy and priorities
- Design and implement standardized, scalable processes for how Digital leaders engage with vendors across the lifecycle -from sourcing to ongoing performance
- Partner to drive process maturity and consistency across Digital, Finance, and Supply Chain
III. Qualifications A. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant experience.
- 8 years or more years previous experience (in addition to education requirement)
B. Preferred Qualifications
- 8-12+ years of experience in vendor management, sourcing, consulting, or IT financial management
- Experience in VMO setup, vendor consolidation, or large-scale transformation initiatives strongly preferred
- Proven track record driving cost optimization and supplier performance improvements
- Experience working across IT, Finance, Procurement/Supply Chain, and external partners
