Full Job Description
The Role

The Sr. Manager, Data Analytics & Insights is a senior analytics thought leader and strategic partner within the Business Intelligence & Analytics function, serving other business units (such as Players, Coaches, Facilities, Advocacy, and Sections) in a client-facing capacity. This role goes beyond reporting and dashboarding to shape how USTA thinks about and uses data - leading exploratory analysis and hypothesis-driven investigations, providing strategic guidance to senior stakeholders, and actively building data literacy across the organization through education and coaching. The Sr. Manager will partner closely with the IT Data & Analytics team on data architecture, pipelines, and platform capabilities, and will apply advanced technical skills - including SQL and geospatial analysis - to integrate and interrogate data from multiple systems in service of USTA's participation and facility strategies.

  • Serve as a senior analytics thought leader and strategic partner for assigned business units (players, coaches, facilities, advocacy, sections), providing strategic guidance grounded in data and analysis.
  • Design and lead exploratory analysis and hypothesis testing to uncover trends, drivers, opportunities, and risks, translating ambiguous business questions into structured analytic approaches.
  • Support target setting and measurement by identifying leading, lagging, and contributing metrics for each business area.
  • Conduct advanced and ad hoc analyses, including geospatial analysis (e.g., Placer.ai, GIS tools), to inform facility, advocacy, and participation strategy.
  • Maintain and educate end-users on dashboards, reports, and visualizations (Tableau, Excel, SQL-driven data marts) to make insights accessible and actionable for decision-makers.
  • Elevate USTA's data literacy by developing and conducting training and education sessions, building self-service tools, and championing data best practices across the association.
  • Present findings and recommendations using compelling, executive-ready storytelling tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Partner, as needed, with the IT Data & Analytics team on data architecture, pipeline requirements, platform enhancements, and data governance to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to conduct exploratory analysis.
  • Mentor and guide analysts across the association, elevating overall analytic maturity and fostering a stronger data culture.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, consultants, and partners supporting data and analytics initiatives.
  • Ensure data integrity and quality across research, reporting, and analytics deliverables.
  • Explore and introduce new analytic techniques, tools, and datasets to continually enhance USTA's analytic capabilities.

Who You Are

  • Fluency with Tableau; strong AI skills.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; ability to translate complex analytics for executive audiences.
  • Experience in sports, membership-based organizations, or consumer analytics is a strong plus.
