Job Description:

Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm

Assists with preparation of an annual budget and manages the designing and implementation of stewardship, cost control, and restriction/surveillance programs. Creates Return on Investment (ROI) proposals to justify operational programs, capital resources, and new resource needs. Evaluates and analyzes procedures that will result in improved medication utilization, optimized patient outcomes, and streamlined pharmacy processes. Proactively uses data analysis techniques to track, monitor, and communicate the operational, clinical quality, and financial outcomes of assigned areas. Provides support for system audits and data validation. Coordinates and directs pharmacy programs and operations in assigned areas with Director of Pharmacy to ensure pharmacy services and distribution systems are aligned with evidence-based best practices. Monitors operational performance, patient care services, cost containment activities, and budgetary performance via innovative objective parameters. Facilitates pharmacy operations to optimize medication utilization, manages pharmacy supply chains and inventory processes, and coordinates effective medication cost containment initiatives. Assumes all delegations and responsibilities necessary to ensure program continuity and overall functionality of the pharmacy department. Leads recruitment, interviews, and hiring processes for staff in assigned areas. Other duties as assigned.

Education:
  • Bachelor's [Required]

Field of Study:
  • of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm D
  • PGY1 Pharmacy Residency
  • PGY2 Specialty Residency
  • PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residency
  • Business Administration, or other advanced degree in pharmacy or healthcare leadership

Work Experience:
  • 3+ of pharmacy leadership with supervisory experience [Required]
  • 5+ of contemporary hospital pharmacy practice experience [Required]
  • 5+ of pharmacy practice experience in a large hospital (greater than 500 bed institution) and integrated healthcare system (three or more hospitals in system) [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Licensed Pharmacist (RPH) [Required]
  • Pharmacy Consultant (CPh) [Preferred]
  • Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Certification (BPS) [Preferred]
