Full Job Description
Job Description:

The Senior Manager, Business Performance is accountable for site-level business performance insight, activity-based cost analysis, profit and loss stewardship support, and executive decision readiness for the JHS Spokane manufacturing site. This role serves as the single point of accountability for translating operational, financial, and commercial data into clear, accurate, and decision-ready insights used by site leadership to manage performance, evaluate tradeoffs, and prioritize actions. Operating within the Business Management Office, this role establishes and maintains standard work for performance reporting, supports key financial and operational review cadences, and ensures leadership discussions are grounded in consistent assumptions, clear data, and defined decision implications. This role does not own day-to-day operations or financial accounting, but owns the clarity, consistency, and usability of business performance information used to run the site. Position requires regular interaction with site leadership and cross-functional partners. All work must be performed in accordance with applicable GMP, data integrity, and compliance requirements.

Business Performance & Decision Support
  • Serve as the site owner for standardized business performance metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting used in leadership decision forums.
  • Translate complex operational and financial data into concise, decision-focused insights that clearly articulate performance drivers, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Support site leadership by preparing analysis and materials for recurring operating and financial review cadences, ensuring data is accurate, timely, and decision-ready.

Profit & Loss Stewardship Support
  • Support profit and loss review cycles by consolidating, validating, and presenting performance information aligned to agreed assumptions and definitions.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure consistency between operational performance indicators, cost drivers, and financial outcomes.
  • Provide scenario and sensitivity analysis to inform leadership decisions related to capacity, mix, investments, and prioritization.

Standardization & Governance
  • Define and maintain standard work for site-level performance reporting, including metric definitions, data sources, refresh cadence, and usage expectations.
  • Act as a steward of consistency across performance views, preventing parallel reporting, conflicting assumptions, and unmanaged metrics.
  • Identify gaps, data quality issues, or process breakdowns impacting leadership decision-making and drive resolution through appropriate partners.

Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner closely with Operations, Technical Services, Commercial, Finance, IT/Data, and the PMO to ensure performance insights reflect end-to-end site reality.
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner to functional leaders by framing issues objectively and grounding recommendations in data.
  • Escalate misalignment, data integrity concerns, or decision risk in a clear and timely manner.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, engineering, analytics, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in business performance, operations analytics, finance, or decision support roles within a manufacturing or regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting leadership decision-making through structured analysis and executive-level communication.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to synthesize large, complex data sets into clear insights.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and business intelligence or reporting tools.
  • Expert in Business performance analysis and reporting.
  • Expert in Profit & loss analysis and financial modeling.
  • Expert in Advanced Excel; BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Expert in Data governance and metric standardization.

Preferred:
  • MBA, CMA, or advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience supporting site-level profit and loss discussions or operating review cadences.
  • Experience working in pharmaceutical, biologics, or other regulated manufacturing environments
