GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Senior Manager, Business Development is a key position that will develop, support and drive the new business growth and performance of DCR's Clinical Trials business. This role has the primary responsibly of identifying and cultivating new business opportunities via engagement with new sponsors and CRO partners. Specifically, this role will:
  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership and operational leads to engage with potential clients and understand their needs and identify how they align with DCR's offering
  • Lead and execute efforts to expand lead generation through cold calling, email campaigns, business-to-business selling, and other methods
  • Manage inbound leads through the sales cycle in a timely manner (RFPs, budget discussions, RFIs, etc) while routing and assigning duties and follow-up actions to internal stakeholders
  • Achieve revenue and sales objectives through proactive communication and management of sales opportunities for targeted and assigned clients.
  • Maintain and update information within salesforce.com platform to accurately support BD pipeline review and reporting to DCR leadership
  • Attend conferences and networking events to build relationships with industry partners and stay current with new trends

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

Implement the strategic business development plan to maintain/grow key client business relationships in collaboration with Director, Business Relationships

Identify and pursue new business opportunities including new markets and growth areas via engaging with new sponsors and partner CROs

Work with senior leadership and Operational leads to engage with clients and understand challenges in order to propose solutions

Develop and oversee strategic management of study and site feasibility to position sites and DCR for maximal operational success and financial return by leveraging data-driven insights and strategic cross-functional collaboration.

Partner with members of the team and perform necessary activities related to the timely response of RFPs, RFI, and ballpark budgets

Ensure leads and active opportunities are accurate and updated in Salesforce.com platform for BD report generation

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

6-8 years experience

Bachelor's Degree

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, TRAINING, OR QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4+ years relevant business development experience in healthcare/life sciences industry and/or contract research organization.
  • Proven track record driving sales/business development activities in a complex, highly matrixed organization. Required
  • A proven record of selling and building revenue in the clinical trial space. Required
  • Highly effective written and oral communication skills. Required
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure without supervision. Required
  • Strong and effective presentation skills; ability to convincingly present features and benefits of service to clients. Required
  • Advanced degree in business or medical/biological sciences Preferred


Travel: Consistent travel that will average 10%. This means approximately 2 to 3 days per month of travel to attend DaVita, DCR, client meetings, and conferences.

Nights/Weekends: 1-2 nights per month. Rare Sunday travel for Monday morning meetings may be required.

This position will be open for a minimum of three days.

The Salary Range for the role is $98,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year.

If a candidate is hired, they will be paid at least the minimum wage according to their geographical jurisdiction and the exemption status for the position.

New York Exempt: New York City and Long Island: $66,300.00/year, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $66,300.00/year, Remainder of New York state: $62,353.20/year New York Non-exempt: New York City and Long Island: $17.00/hour, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $17.00/hour, Remainder of New York state: $16.00/hour

Washington Exempt: $80,168.40/year Washington Non-exempt: Bellingham: $19.13/hour, Burien: $21.71/hour, Everette: $20.77/hour, Unincorporated King County: $20.82/hour, Renton: $21.57/hour, Seattle: $21.30/hour, Tukwila: $21.65/hour, Remainder of Washington state: $17.13/hour
