Senior Manager, Business Applications

Finance | Full-Time• United States

The Role

At Sovos, we're building a Salesforce ecosystem that powers go-to-market excellence across a global, 1,000+ user enterprise. As Senior Manager, GTM Business Applications, you'll lead the strategy, architecture, and delivery of our Salesforce platform and connected applications - partnering with Sales Operations, Finance, Professional Services, Customer Success, and executive leadership to deliver scalable, compliant, high-performance solutions. This is a senior technical leadership role at the intersection of platform engineering and business impact.

More specifically, you will:
  • Lead and develop a team of Salesforce administrators and developers - own hiring, mentoring, performance management, and career growth to build a skilled and effective, technically strong team.
  • Own the strategy, architecture, governance, and delivery roadmap for Sovos's Salesforce ecosystem and connected enterprise applications, supporting 1,000+ users across sales, customer service, finance, and professional services.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical design, and deliver new functionality including custom objects, workflows, automation, analytics, security configurations, and integrations. Leverage AI tools to accelerate requirements gathering, design documentation, and delivery efficiency.
  • Manage and evolve Salesforce CPQ configuration - including product catalog, pricing rules, quote templates, approval workflows, and contract lifecycle - ensuring alignment with Sales Operations, Legal, and Finance for quoting accuracy and revenue recognition.
  • Design and enforce Salesforce security architecture including org-wide defaults, sharing rules, permission sets, field-level security, and login policies to ensure data governance, regulatory compliance, and least-privilege access across the organization.
  • Champion Agile/Scrum delivery practices across the team - lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement, predictable delivery cadence, and transparent stakeholder communication.
  • Establish and maintain a mature Salesforce DevOps practice using Salesforce DX, CI/CD pipelines, and tooling such as Prodly, Copado, or Gearset - enforce sandbox governance, environment strategy, and metadata version control to ensure stable, auditable deployments.
  • Lead Salesforce and connected-system workstreams for mergers and acquisitions - own due diligence, data migration strategy, org consolidation or coexistence planning, and post-close integration execution.
  • Ensure platform compliance with data privacy regulations including GDPR, CCPA, and regional requirements - enforce data residency configurations, audit trail policies, field encryption, and data retention schedules in coordination with Legal and InfoSec.
  • Serve as the senior technical voice for the GTM Applications platform - translate complex architecture decisions and platform risk into executive-level recommendations and maintain transparent roadmap visibility for VP and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Own platform and team budgets including Salesforce license optimization, vendor contract renewals, tooling rationalization, and headcount planning to ensure cost governance across the GTM application portfolio.

  • You have strong command of the Salesforce security model including permission sets, permission set groups, org-wide defaults, role hierarchy, sharing rules, field-level security, and Salesforce Shield - and you've conducted security reviews and enforced least-privilege access principles.
