- Lead with empathy, strong communication, and a people-focused approach to achieve successful results for the South Area.
- Understand and implement complex technical requirements for client projects while managing, directing and mentoring teams of engineers, scientists and field staff to meet client satisfaction and ensure projects are delivered safely and within scope, schedule and budget
- Serve as an inter-disciplinary team member in meetings and communications with clients pertaining to specific projects/tasks
- Prepare and/or review work plans, specifications, sampling and analysis plans, feasibility studies, and remedial action plans for project implementation
- Prepare environmental permit applications (e.g., air permitting, wastewater discharge permitting, etc.)
- Conduct analysis of environmental data from complex environmental and/or hydrogeologic investigations and develop technical reports
- Maintain a high external profile through membership/attendance in industry organizations and continually growing a contact base while expanding Verdantas' presence and market share
- Manage and Mentor staff to achieve personal and career growth
- Drive staffing, hiring, retention, and engagement efforts
- Monitor weekly workload and staff allocation to balance resources and project demands
- Review weekly time sheets and expense reports and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed
- Conduct performance reviews and engage in meetings with staff to provide ongoing feedback on performance and guide professional development

- Bachelor's degree in Civil/ Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology - Advanced degree is preferred
- A minimum of 12-15 years of experience in the engineering consulting industry
- Registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist preferred
- Demonstrated success in project and client management
- Thorough understanding of U.S. EPA regulations, State environmental regulations for various states, and other standards/regulations affecting the regulated community
- Experience with preparing regulatory work plans and reports for investigation, remediation, and closure; working knowledge of methods and procedures for site characterization, hydrogeologic analysis and remediation of contaminants in soil, soil vapor, indoor air; and groundwater understanding of multimedia remedial technologies for addressing a variety of contaminants
- Proven ability to build strong partnerships and relationships both internally & externally
- Demonstrated people management skills and mentoring capabilities
