  • Operate UAS drones, robotic total stations, terrestrial LiDAR scanners, digital levels, and photography tools.
  • Interpret drawings, topographic maps, and real property descriptions accurately.
  • Manage equipment supplies, project coordination, and proposal preparation.
  • Travel occasionally for up to two weeks on extended projects.

GPI is seeking a Senior Land Surveyor in our Milford, DE office to work on projects in various locations throughout Delaware. GPI offers opportunities for advancement and is looking for a qualified candidate to build a Survey department for GPI's Delaware Design Operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform field data collection and office data processing, as well as the management of data.
  • Perform quality control and quality assurance
  • Work with aerial, mobile, and static LiDAR datasets with cross-training into other mapping disciplines

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, topographic maps, and real property descriptions
  • Projects may include the use of hand tools, including a bush axe, machete, or sledgehammer
  • Occasionally travel out of town for up to two weeks at a time
  • Maintain supplies and equipment
  • Project management and follow-through of tasks
  • Scheduling and coordination across GPI departments
  • Proposal preparation and proposal development

Qualifications:
  • Licensed Delaware Surveyor or ability to obtain a license within 9 months is preferable
  • Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree in a related field will be considered in lieu of experience
  • Project management and scheduling experience
  • Proposal preparation experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • Knowledge of Geometry and Trigonometry
  • Experience in field surveying practices and procedures
  • Experience in drafting and reproduction methods
  • Experience in land recording and conveyance procedures
  • Background check and drug testing will be required for projects on Federal facilities


Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
  • Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
  • Able to move equipment or inspection specimens weighing up to 50 pounds
