Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking experienced Senior International Capability Development SMEs to support the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) J3 International Support program.

The Senior International Capability Development SME will provide senior-level expertise in international SOF capability development, security cooperation, partner nation engagement, multinational operations, and joint, combined, and interagency planning. This role supports USSOCOM's efforts to strengthen international SOF partnerships, improve interoperability, and advance partner nation capability development.

This position is onsite at USSOCOM Headquarters, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Senior International Capability Development SME will:
  • Support international SOF capability development planning and execution.
  • Advise on partner nation capability development, security cooperation, and multinational SOF integration.
  • Coordinate with USSOCOM, GCCs, TSOCs, COCOM staff organizations, international military organizations, and partner nation stakeholders.
  • Support joint, combined, and interagency planning activities involving international SOF partners.
  • Provide expertise on security cooperation programs, partner force development, and international military engagement.
  • Support planning for joint combined exchange training, joint exercises, and joint combined operations.
  • Develop briefing materials, reports, assessments, white papers, and decision support products.
  • Support Foreign Disclosure processes and international partner information exchanges.
  • Analyze partner nation requirements, capability gaps, and opportunities to improve interoperability.
  • Maintain effective relationships with U.S. Government, military, coalition, and partner nation organizations.


Qualifications

Clearance Requirement
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility required.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in International Relations or related field.

Experience Required
  • Minimum of 15 years of combined military SOF and regional experience supporting special operations conducted in a joint, combined, and interagency environment.
  • Graduate of a U.S. SOF component selection and assessment program, such as the U.S. Army Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC), Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training (BUD/S), or another SOF component equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and through international SOF partners.
  • Experience with at least one of the following:
  • Completion of a formal program of instruction from a Department of War training organization covering the basic tenets of U.S. Security Cooperation.
  • Operational experience working with international military forces through joint combined exchange training, joint exercises, or joint combined operations such as Afghanistan or Iraq.
  • Assignment to an international military organization or coordination center, such as Joint Staff J7 or a Combatant Command staff organization working with international partners.
  • Graduate of a Joint Professional Military Education course, Intermediate Development Course, or Senior Professional Military Education Course.
  • Experience with Foreign Disclosure and international partner information exchanges.

  • International SOF capability development.

  • Formal U.S. Security Cooperation training is preferred where applicable.
