Position Summary: Senior Internal Communications Specialist (hybrid).

Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Communications
a. Develop and execute integrated communications programs that advance organizational
priorities, including the behavioral health mission, Franciscan Children's affiliation with
Boston Children's, and enterprise-wide transformation.
b. Serve as a trusted communications resource for leadership, key departments, and
committees, providing counsel on messaging, tone, timing, and audience.
c. Translate complex clinical, operational, and cultural initiatives into clear, compelling
communications for diverse internal and external audiences.
d. Operate with a high degree of independence on high-priority projects, proactively
identifying communications opportunities and gaps.
2. Content Development & Storytelling
a. Develop a broad range of communications content, including articles, executive
messages, talking points, scripts, presentations, web copy, social media content, and
marketing collateral, across print and digital channels.
b. Produce content that is accurate, on-brand, accessible, ADA-compliant, AI-supported, and
tailored to the intended audience and channel.
3. Internal Communications
a. Support enterprise-wide internal communications programs that inform, align, and engage
the workforce across the full Boston Children's system.
b. Work in close partnership with the Internal Communications Manager for Human
Resources to develop communications that support benefits, employee engagement, and
workforce initiatives.
c. Contribute to editorial planning and maintain a consistent cadence of employee-facing
communications.
d. Support communications for major organizational milestones, change management
efforts, and transformation initiatives.
4. Channel & Digital Management
a. Manage and contribute content to internal and external communications channels,
including digital platforms, intranet, email, and social media.
b. Ensure content is on-brand, ADA-compliant, and optimized for the intended channel and
audience.
c. Support the adoption and effective use of Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, SharePoint) as core
communications channels.
d. Leverage analytics to assess content performance and inform continuous improvement.

1. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated ability to meet
tight deadlines.
2. Strong digital storytelling skills with the ability to create compelling content for multiple channels
and formats.
3. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, complex organization.
4. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders,
clinical leaders, and interprofessional partners.
5. Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams and SharePoint.
6. Collaborative and proactive approach to moving projects forward.
7. Strong organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail.
8. Familiarity with healthcare regulatory environment and sensitivity to HIPAA and employee privacy
considerations in communications preferred.
9. Familiarity with AI tools and their application in communications (content creation, analytics,
personalization) preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree required.
Experience: Minimum of 5-6 years of progressive experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a closely related field required.
