Petro Chem Development Co. Inc. seeks a Senior Instrumentation & Electrical Engineer in Houston, TX. Job Description: The Senior Instrumentation & Electrical Engineer will serve as the instrumentation, controls and electrical engineering specialist for the project, as defined by the proposal and purchase order. Responsible for all instrumentation, controls and electrical engineering activities on assigned project for engineering and supply of fired heaters and boilers. Coordinates the overall design recognizing the requirements of other disciplines such as process and mechanical engineering. Apply the project specifications as defined by the purchase order and/or proposal or in the absence thereof select the appropriate criteria for design. Review of Purchase Order including datasheets, specifications and drawings. Developing further the proposal P&ID and generating Instrument, Controls and Electrical Data Sheets and Project Specifications. Preparation and review of instrument index, I/O list, hook-up drawings, control loop diagrams, logic diagrams, cable schedule, PLC architecture etc. Preparation of datasheets for items like tube skin thermocouples, thermowells, actuator, draft gauges, transmitters, analyzers, aircraft warning lights, flow elements, orifice plates etc. Prepare requisitions for supply for burner management system, fuel gas and knock out drum skid, burner ignition panel, ammonia flow control skid (for SCR systems) and all items for which datasheet is prepared. Perform a thorough technical evaluation of bids and recommend technically acceptable suppliers. Position requires up to 15% domestic travel to various unanticipated locations. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field plus 15 years technical experience in an Instrumentation and Electrical Engineer position or related position. The required experience must also include: • 5 years of experience working on fired heaters or Waste Heater Boilers; • Knowledge of instrumentation heater related packages like fans, SCR, Air Preheater, Fuel Gas Skid, Knock Out Drum skid, Flame Relay panels, Ammonia Flow Control Unit skid etc.; • Ability to work on multiple projects with different requirements (different clients, specifications, project managers etc.) simultaneously; • Must be familiar with US and international design codes such as NEC, IEC, API; and, • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
