JOB SUMMARY:
This position oversees designing, building, and maintaining the underlying systems and technologies that support an organization's operations. This includes networks, communication systems, servers, and storage systems. The Infrastructure Engineer will work closely with other teams, such as development or security teams, to ensure that systems are designed and configured in a way that meets the needs of the organization and its users.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Designs and implements IT infrastructure systems, such as networks, servers, storage systems, and data centers.
2. Specifies and implements cybersecurity governance, as well as technical and operational support.
3. Provides oversight for the company's network, servers, routers, firewalls, and that data is well managed and protected.
4. Oversees the day-to-day operations of IT infrastructure systems, including troubleshooting issues as they arise.
5. Plans and executes upgrades and migrations to new systems and technologies.
6. Ensures the security and reliability of IT infrastructure systems through regular monitoring and implementation of security measures such as firewalls and ongoing system reviews.
7. Maintains network technologies including firewalls, routers, switches, IDS/IPS, and content filters. Isolates and resolves network-related service problems; diagnoses and resolves problems.
8. Collaborates with other teams, such as Helpdesk, Development, and Operations teams, to ensure efficient IT operations.
9. Collaborates with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
10. Remains current with new technologies and industry trends and seeks to continuously improve the infrastructure systems.
11. Ensures high availability and uptime of IT infrastructure systems by implementing redundancy, disaster recovery, and performing regular maintenance and testing of these systems.
12. Provides technical guidance and support to other team members and stakeholders.
13. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
• A Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent is preferred.
• Certifications: Network+, CCNA, CCNP, MCSA, MCSE, or other relevant certifications required.
EXPERIENCE:
• Four (4) to eight (8) years of prior relevant experience working in an engineering or administrative position required.
• Must have relevant hands-on experience with the following technology or equivalent: Palo Alto, Cisco, Meraki, or Juniper Networks.
• Must have hands-on network experience and understanding of Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, TCP/IP, Layer 2, and Layer 3 switching and routing protocols, EIGRP, BGP, VPN, network security/Firewall rules, data circuits and application-specific protocols.
• Experience required with
o VMware, Windows Server, scripting, and some Unix/Linux (shell).
o Various virtualization technologies such as VMware and Citrix.
o Architecture/design, implementation and administration of data/VoIP/eFax networks.
• Expertise in network systems solutions and network performance analysis.
• Hands-on experience in voice & video conferencing, gateway setup, and maintenance.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
• Understands SQL database concepts.
• Adapts easily to new technology and environment.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Self-motivated, well-organized, and detail oriented.
• Communicates effectively across internal and external organizations, with both technical and non technical audiences
