Job Description
The Position
The Senior Systems Specialist, Workday is responsible for the administration, configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of Workday HCM, Absence Management, Security, Recruiting, and Compensation modules. This role serves as a subject matter expert and strategic partner to HR, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Payroll, IT, and business stakeholders, ensuring Workday solutions effectively support organizational objectives while maintaining data integrity, security, compliance, and operational excellence. The position leads system enhancements, business process optimization, configuration changes, testing, releases, and continuous improvement initiatives across the Workday platform. The role also drives issue resolution, release management, user acceptance testing, process documentation, stakeholder training, and system integration activities, while providing expert guidance on Workday best practices and future-state HR technology strategies.
Responsibilities
Configuring organizational structures, business processes, compensation programs, recruiting workflows, absence plans, and security frameworks
Managing role-based access controls and security governance
Supporting compensation review cycles and recruiting operations
Developing reports, dashboards, and analytics
Ensuring accurate data management and regulatory compliance
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable HR technology solution
Required Education Experience & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
Master's degree (MBA, HRM, or Information Systems) preferred.
Workday certifications in one or more modules such as HCM, Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking, Talent & Performance, or Benefits are highly desirable.
5-8+ years of HRIS or Workday experience, with at least 4+ years of hands-on Workday configuration and administration experience.
Strong functional expertise across Workday HCM, Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking, Talent Management, Benefits, and Organizational Structures.
Experience managing complex Workday configurations, business processes, security roles, and organizational hierarchies in a global environment.
Proven experience supporting annual compensation cycles, merit planning, bonus programs, and compensation reviews.
Experience configuring and maintaining absence plans, leave policies, and time tracking solutions across multiple countries.
Hands-on experience with talent and performance management processes, including goal management, talent reviews, succession planning, and career development.
Experience supporting Workday releases, testing, regression validation, and change management activities.
Strong experience gathering business requirements, conducting stakeholder workshops, and translating requirements into scalable Workday solutions.
Experience troubleshooting system issues and collaborating with HR, Payroll, IT, and external vendors.
Experience working in global organizations with complex HR operations and compliance requirements.
