This role is responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle from recruiting and onboarding through employee relations, payroll administration, performance management, and offboarding. Essential Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition
• Manage full-cycle recruiting for all positions.
• Create and post job advertisements across recruiting platforms.
• Screen applicants, conduct initial interviews, coordinate hiring manager interviews, and facilitate the hiring process.
• Conduct employment reference checks and coordinate pre-employment screenings.
• Prepare offer letters and employment documentation.
Onboarding & Offboarding
• Coordinate all new hire onboarding activities and orientation.
• Ensure completion and compliance of all employment documentation.
• Maintain employee personnel files and HR records.
• Manage employee separations, including resignations, layoffs, and terminations.
• Conduct exit interviews and coordinate final offboarding processes in compliance with California employment laws.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
• Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers.
• Provide guidance on company policies, procedures, and employment practices.
• Conduct workplace investigations and assist with conflict resolution.
• Support employee coaching, corrective action, and performance improvement plans.
• Administer and coordinate the company's performance review process.
Payroll & HR Administration
• Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time.
• Audit time records and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Process new hires, terminations, wage changes, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
• Administer employee benefits and maintain HRIS records.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Workers' Compensation & Leave Administration
• Administer workers' compensation claims from injury reporting through claim resolution.
• Coordinate communication with insurance carriers, medical providers, supervisors, and employees.
• Monitor modified duty assignments and employee work restrictions.
• Maintain OSHA injury logs and required documentation.
• Assist with leave administration and accommodation processes.
Unemployment & Employment Compliance
• Respond to Employment Development Department (EDD) requests.
• Manage unemployment insurance claims and hearings.
• Assist with policy development and employee handbook updates.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
Office Administration
• Coordinate employee uniforms and gear ordering.
• Manage company-issued devices, including mobile phones, tablets, iPads, laptops, and related equipment.
• Assist with office administration and other operational support functions as needed.
• Support employee recognition initiatives and company events.
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive Human Resources experience in a Senior HR Generalist or similar role.
• Strong working knowledge of California employment law and HR best practices.
• Experience managing full-cycle recruiting and onboarding.
• Experience processing payroll.
• Experience administering workers' compensation and unemployment claims.
• Experience handling employee relations, investigations, and performance management.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems.
Preferred
• Experience in the home services industry, including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Construction, or similar field service organizations.
• Experience with ServiceTitan, Paychex, or comparable HR and payroll software.

• This is a 100% in-office position based in Moorpark, California. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this role.
• Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support recruiting events, payroll deadlines, employee meetings, or other business needs.
