Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Helix Professional to support the development, enhancement, integration, operation, and maintenance of BMC Helix IT Service Management solutions. This consultant will work with the Enterprise Service Automation team to expand and sustain Helix capabilities used to support House Leadership, Members, Committees, and Support Offices.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on senior consultant who can advise stakeholders, develop and configure Helix applications, build integrations, document technical solutions, support day-to-day operations, and contribute to implementation planning in a complex enterprise environment.

Technology Environment
  • BMC Helix ITSM SaaS environment, including Asset, Incident, Change, Knowledge, and Service Request Management modules
  • BMC Helix Smart IT, Digital Workplace Advanced, Digital Workplace Catalog, Innovation Studio, and Helix Dashboards
  • BMC Action Request System custom-built applications and AR System Developer Studio
  • Integrations with internal, on-premises, cloud-based, and external enterprise systems

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise and participate in the day-to-day development, operations, and maintenance of AR System and Innovation Studio applications.
  • Perform analysis, integration, data development, workflow development, documentation, testing, and implementation of Helix applications in a Helix 25.x or higher environment.
  • Configure, customize, reconcile, and maintain Helix custom forms, workflows, interfaces, and supporting application objects.
  • Develop and implement integrations between Helix and external systems using technologies such as REST APIs, JDBC, Oracle DB Links, Microsoft SQL Linked Servers, PostgreSQL, and Pentaho Spoon.
  • Create and maintain design plans, development plans, implementation documentation, and documentation of new, modified, or removed objects.
  • Support data migration, user documentation, training documentation, computer-based training materials, and in-person end-user training as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a Work Breakdown Schedule, including schedule planning, task execution, documentation, and training activities.
  • Support daily Helix operations by assisting with user accounts, reporting, configuration data, troubleshooting, and production support needs.
  • Participate in weekly status briefings and provide weekly written status reports and monthly labor hour summaries.

Required Qualifications
  • Five or more years of extensive hands-on experience supporting, developing, customizing, and integrating BMC AR System and ITSM solutions.
  • Hands-on experience developing Innovation Studio applications and integrations.
  • Experience with BMC Helix ITSM 25.x or higher.
  • Experience with BMC Helix Action Request System 25.x or higher, including configuration, upgrades, customization, and integrations.
  • Experience with BMC Helix Smart IT.
  • Experience with BMC Helix Digital Workplace Advanced and Digital Workplace Catalog.
  • Experience with BMC Helix Dashboards.
  • Experience with BMC SaaS Cloud development and integrations.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, including the ability to capture solution requirements and design details clearly.

Work Location and Schedule

Work will be performed at the O'Neill House Office Building in Washington, DC and/or remotely, subject to direction and approval. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The House will provide necessary equipment and supplies needed to complete assigned tasks.

Security and Compliance
  • Candidate must be able to complete required U.S. Capitol Police background check processes before beginning work.
  • Candidate must comply with House information security policies, standards, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Candidate may be required to obtain, possess, and/maintain federal government security clearance or pass additional investigations if access to House Sensitive Information is required.
  • Candidate must be able to sign required non-disclosure agreements prior to commencement of work.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The strongest candidate will be a senior-level BMC Helix professional with deep, practical experience across AR System, ITSM, Innovation Studio, Digital Workplace, SaaS integrations, dashboards, custom workflows, and enterprise service automation. This person should be comfortable operating as both a hands-on developer and a trusted advisor, with the ability to communicate clearly, document thoroughly, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
