Stantec is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Materials Testing and Inspections Project Manager to join our team in the Markham, ON office.
Your Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to work with engineers and other technicians performing general duties consisting of both field and laboratory work including the following:
- Managing budgets, timelines, and scope of projects assigned
- Coordination and supervision of material testing and test pitting programs for a variety of small to large projects spanning from infrastructure, residential, commercial, and industrial developments
- Mentoring, coaching, and training of technical staff as required
- Geotechnical field testing such as rock anchor testing, observation of deep foundation installation, piezometer installation and measurements, slope stability monitoring using inclinometers, downhole thermistor installation, etc.
- Construction quality control/quality assurance and preparation of quality documents
- Assist with field and laboratory testing of soils/concrete/asphalt
- Overseeing proposal and report preparation in the office
- Other general field and office-related duties

Education and ExperienceTechnical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
A minimum of 15 years of experience in materials testing and inspections is required
5-10 years of materials testing project management experience
The position will require fieldwork
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
