Qualifications

• University degree in Mining or Geological Engineering; a master's degree is an asset.
• Registration with PEO.
• Experience and familiarity with underground mining activities and mine design.
• Knowledge of ground support products and technologies.
• Understanding of Geotechnical designs and Seismic risks in mines.
• Proficiency in Deswik, ESG Seismic monitoring software, and mXrap is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
• At least eight years of relevant experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual updates of mine ground control and seismic risk management plans.
• Coordinate geotechnical engineering design and analysis, including rockmass characterization and support standards.
• Direct the ground control team to ensure quality assurance is maintained and tasks are delivered effectively.
• Manage geotechnical design tasks and integration of mine monitoring systems.
• Oversee mine geotechnical projects and liaise with external consultants.
• Prepare and validate detailed reports on site investigations and recommendations.
• Mentor team members, fostering professional development and ensuring operational excellence.
• Conduct training presentations on ground control for mining crews, communicating necessary updates.
