Alcoa Transformation group is looking to fill the role of a Senior Geotechnical Engineer! Transformation is charged with the global responsibility to manage Alcoa's identified environmental liabilities and assets at closed locations and to provide technical assistance for operating locations' waste management needs to meet overall financial and risk avoidance goals.
This role is responsible for providing strategic technical support to Transformation Locations for all aspects relating to impoundment operations, maintenance, and closure, and ensuring adherence to the Global Industry Standard for Tailings Management (GISTM) and Alcoa's Impoundment Management System (IMS). This role will also serve as the Geotechnical Engineering Lead for the Integrated Closure Committee leading initiatives to enhance processes for Global site closure planning and Asset Retirement Obligation cost estimating.
Technical Lead - Integrated Closure Committee
3 Provide strategic technical input into the development of Global policies, standards, and guidelines establishing the framework to ensure implementation of cost-effective closure solutions that meet applicable regulatory and Alcoa requirements.
3 Perform technical gap assessments of site closure plans and associated cost estimates and support development of gap closure plans.
3 Provide recommendations to optimize the geotechnical designs, construction, and monitoring of Global closure strategies and designs
3 Conduct risk assessments and readiness reviews for closure execution.
Technical Consultant - Technical Support for Transformation Closure Projects
3 Perform technical reviews of studies, data, and reports including geotechnical investigation reports, seepage analyses, closure designs, monitoring data, QA/QC protocols, and related documents.
3 Provide technical guidance to Locations to perform required geotechnical site investigations, stability analyses, closure works, and maintenance and monitoring activities.
3 Interpret monitoring data and recommend modifications to optimize operations and maintenance programs.
3 Perform site visits to support development of closure plans, optimize O&M Programs, and provide technical support during active construction projects.
Technical Consultant - GISTM & Alcoa IMS Program Oversight, Maintenance, and Optimization
3 Provide technical support to Locations to develop scopes of work, review deliverables, and perform risk assessments for various impoundment projects.
3 Oversee program maintenance requirements to ensure ongoing conformance with Alcoa requirements while actively identifying opportunities to improve program efficiency and reduce risk.
3 Coordinate internal assurance reviews and external audits related to impoundment management with project teams.
3 Update technical standards, guidelines, and procedures based on lessons learned and industry standard practices.
3 Coordinate collection of relevant site data from the locations to support internal reporting requirements.
General Job Requirements
3 Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
3 Master's degree preferred in: Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or similar field.
3 PE or PG license is preferred.
3 Minimum of 5 years' progressive geotechnical engineering experience working on projects in an industrial, mining, process, manufacturing, or similar environment
3 Sound knowledge of internationally recognized tailings management standards and industry guidelines such as ICMM, ANCOLD, MAC/CDA, and GISTM.
3 Demonstrated experience in geotechnical engineering aspects of tailings dam closure planning, execution, and monitoring.
3 Experience performing geotechnical investigations, slope stability analyses and consolidation modelling.
3 Experience performing geotechnical risk assessments in accordance with industry practices, including evaluation of structural stability, and long-term performance of legacy impoundments.
3 Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with demonstrated ability to challenge effectively and drive outcomes.
3 Strong organizational and time management skills, capacity to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and drive aggressive implementation plans and schedules

Vous offrirez un soutien g otechnique strat gique aux sites de Transformation pour l'exploitation et l'entretien des bassins de retenue, la planification de la fermeture et la supervision des programmes. Vous contribuerez assurer l'alignement avec la Global Industry Standard for Tailings Management (GISTM) et le syst me de gestion des bassins de retenue d'Alcoa (IMS), tout en agissant comme responsable de l'ing nierie g otechnique pour le comit int gr de fermeture afin d'am liorer la planification globale de la fermeture des sites et l'estimation des co ts li s aux obligations de mise hors service des actifs.

3 Diriger les contributions g otechniques aux politiques, normes, lignes directrices, plans de fermeture et estimations de co ts l' chelle mondiale afin de soutenir des solutions rentables qui r pondent aux exigences r glementaires et celles d'Alcoa.
3 valuer les carts techniques dans les plans de fermeture des sites, les estimations de co ts et l' tat de pr paration l'ex c9cution, puis soutenir l' laboration de plans concrets pour les combler.
3 Examiner les tudes g otechniques, les rapports d'investigation, les analyses d'infiltration, les conceptions de fermeture, les donn es de surveillance, les protocoles d'assurance et de contr le de la qualit ainsi que les livrables techniques connexes.
3 Conseiller les sites sur les investigations g otechniques, les analyses de stabilit , les travaux de fermeture, les activit s d'entretien, les programmes de surveillance et les valuations des risques.
3 Soutenir la supervision de la gestion des bassins de retenue en maintenant les exigences des programmes GISTM et IMS, en coordonnant les examens d'assurance et les audits, et en identifiant les occasions d'am liorer l'efficacit et de r duire les risques.
3 Utiliser les le ons apprises, les donn es des sites et les pratiques de l'industrie pour mettre jour les normes techniques, les lignes directrices, les proc dures et les exigences de rapports internes.
Ce que vous apportez au r le
3 Un baccalaur at en g nie g otechnique, en g ologie, en g nie civil ou dans une discipline d'ing nierie troitement li e9; une ma trise en g nie g otechnique, en g nie g ologique ou dans un domaine similaire est un atout.
3 Au moins cinq ann es d'exp rience progressive en ing nierie g otechnique dans un environnement industriel, minier, de proc d , manufacturier ou similaire.
3 Une connaissance des normes et lignes directrices internationalement reconnues en gestion des r sidus, notamment ICMM, ANCOLD, MAC/CDA et GISTM, afin de soutenir des d c9cisions techniques coh rentes et clair es.
3 Une exp rience en planification, ex c9cution et surveillance de la fermeture de barrages de r sidus, ainsi qu'en investigations g otechniques, analyses de stabilit des pentes, mod lisation de la consolidation et valuations des risques pour des bassins de retenue existants.
3 De solides comp tences en communication, relations interpersonnelles, influence, organisation et gestion du temps pour remettre en question de fa on constructive, prioriser le travail, gérer plusieurs initiatives et obtenir des r sultats.
3 Un engagement d montr envers les pratiques de travail s curitaires et la conscience des risques lors de l'examen des conceptions, de l' valuation des conditions sur le terrain, du soutien aux visites de sites et des conseils li s aux bassins de retenue et aux activit s de fermeture; un permis PE ou PG est un atout, et des d placements peuvent tre requis jusqu' 15 % du temps.
