About the Role

The Senior General Manager is responsible for demonstrating positive, inspired, credible and effective leadership for all Store Management and Team Members in home and assigned stores. The role of the Senior General Manager is to create operational excellence through processes and routines, efficient and profitable operations, and growth of leadership in home and assigned stores within the guidelines, policies and procedures established by Fleet Farm.

In addition, the Senior General Manager is expected to be a thought leader who will challenge the status quo, identify opportunities, and provide solutions while partnering cross functionally to achieve the desired results.

What You'll Do

  • Lead Store Operations: Drive performance across five key areas-Team Members, Customers, Store Readiness, Execution, and Profitability-while ensuring consistent Fleet Farm standards across assigned locations.
  • Drive Financial Performance: Achieve budgeted sales and effectively manage P&L, wages, and expenses; identify variances and take corrective action through coaching and training.
  • Ensure Operational Excellence: Oversee merchandising, backroom, logistics, freight, inventory, task management, and store presentation to ensure consistent and timely execution.
  • Champion Customer Experience & Safety: Lead a customer-focused culture while ensuring safe, compliant, and welcoming environments for Team Members and customers.
  • Ensure Compliance & Risk Management: Maintain compliance with company policies and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including safety, firearms, sanitation, and loss prevention requirements.
  • Develop & Lead Talent: Partner with HR to recruit, hire, onboard, coach, develop, and manage performance of Store Leaders and Team Members while building a strong leadership pipeline.
  • Drive Consistency & Change: Serve as an agent of change, conduct routine store visits and audits, lead training and meetings, support new store openings, and drive consistent execution across all assigned locations.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of retail management experience within a Big Box retailer.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and build team member relationships in an environment of fast change.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and key metrics, and deliver results.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task; ability to respond flexibly in a quickly changing environment.
  • Strong communication (written & verbal) and presentation skills required. Must be comfortable presenting to all levels of organization.
  • Excellent computer skills, with MS Office Applications: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
